Better chance of sniping Phat or Sigil

Featured Replies

Pretty short question, however it'd help if i got posts from other people who have tried sniping themself.

I REALLY want a divine, but do not intend to pay ridiculous street prices for these items. So i thought i should try snipe the sigil itself or get one item that i can trade for the sigil, that item being a RED partyhat.

What is easier to snipe and do i even have any chance snipeing? I do not wish to try snhiping for 2 weeks straight with no luck as i would have lost more than 200mill from potential merch moneys.

After having a conversation with someone, apparently divine sigils can be sniped each update as BSS updates which in turn makes divine sigils updates, i thought the entire time that your only chance of sniping a divine would be to snipe it on its seasonal major update. Could someone verify?

Thanks.

How are you gonna snipe a sigil? No one in their right mind would cs corp, so I wouldn't try to snipe a sigil.

Who said everyone is in a right mind set, some groups might want everyone to get something from each drop and may not give a [cabbage] about street prices.

I agree it is unlikely ... VERY unlikely; but it CAN happen.

Yh quite a few people do actually CS, mainly lower levels so there is quite a chance that sigils can be dropped on G.E. It's just the question what is more likely to get dropped, phat or a sigil.

I'd still say a phat > sigil.

I'd still say a phat > sigil.

I'd say this too.

And good luck on sniping, camping the GE is one of the most boring things in Rs if you ask me.

There are three sides to every story: There's one side, there's the other, and there's the truth.

You'll have the greatest chance in sniping a partyhat of equal or greater street worth. People get sick of their large cash deposits sitting in partyhats, using money that could otherwise give them a greater income via flipping/merching other items. Partyhats are mainly for those who want to trade them for something else, aren't up for actual merchanting, are offline a lot, or want that nostalgic feeling. Bottom line, try sniping a partyhat. Good luck!

flipping will get you more in the long run. phats rarely update, and you can basically trade them for anything you want (furies, bob shirts etc.)

sigils are also so heavily sniped, you'd have to be an insane ge camper catching a price update to stand a chance. going by the instant ge updater or something is too late. you're going to have to personally camp the ge and beat the automatic updaters. that means checking the ge every minute or so.

Sigils are far easier to snipe. By this, I mean that you can get an offer in much later for a sigil and still get it in the GE. However, they update so rarely that half the luck is being available once every few months when they do. Partyhats are EXTREMELY hard to get on the GE, especially red-blue. If you look through the highest priced items traded index, only 3 types of partyhat have been traded in the last week, and I doubt more than 1-2 were sold of each. Think of the thousands of people out there all trying to snipe partyhats.

Word has it that you have to get a partyhat offer in within 5-10 seconds to even have a chance of getting on the GE, while you have a few hours to get a sigil offer in.

However my chance for a divine past about a week ago :P

Anywho, as said before, couldn't a divine be sniped every update consdering BSS updates every update. If the BSS updates then the divine must update with it, as a result would it not be possible to snipe a divine ss? But then comes the problem as to who would sell a divine on G.E :S

Try to snipe pumpkin/disk? Also muj from what I've heard as long as a sigil is csed, it goes for whoever has any offer above medium on the ge. Having it for max doesn't give you a higher chance.

aight newb question wat is sniping? lol havent been on rs in 3 yrs

It varies from item to item, depending on the number of that item that's traded through the ge. That's one of the discussions one the thread, mainly does the fact that the Divine updates much more frequently than a phat make it easier to snipe?
