Stev
Well, I used to believe that Shilo was the fastest fishing XP in game. However, now that the rock caverns have been released, I'm not sure. I'm 98 Fishing and getting very fast XP at Rocktails. I've done them from 95+. Would I be better off doing Shilo for XP? Somehow I think catching 2.6K Rockies would be faster then 21K Trout / Salmon. :P. So, which should I do for a fast 99?

crashNburn
Heavy-rod(barbarian) fishing is the most accepted method for fastest fishing exp. Anywhere from 60-70k/hour. Interactive dungeoneering floor mapper

Stev
Thank you for your fast replies! I will fish around and try the other waters... But will most likely be called back to the rock caverns. :).
Codguy
Shilo will net around 50k xp/hour, while Rocktails will get around 40k xp/hour, at your level. I'd take Rocktails, considering the profit is much better. I'd either do Rocktails or Barbarian Fishing, for ~65k xp/hour. Just depending on if I want to be lazy and profit, or be quick and lose a tad bit of money on bait.
gda_scooby
Rocktails are 'easier' in that its less clicking and generally less work, useful if you like to multitask and watch movies etc G
Troacctid
Rocktails are by far the superior choice. The difference in speed between the two is within 5k xp/hr, while the difference in profit is nearly 300k gp/hr. Missing out on that money for only 5k xp is equivalent to paying almost 60 gp/xp to level your fishing, which is more than twice as expensive as leveling herblore. Definitely not worth it! If you valued your time enough to justify that kind of expenditure, then you'd have a very hard time justifying Shilo over heavy rod fishing, wouldn't you? There is no value of time where you could efficiently choose fly fishing over both rocktails and heavy rodding. The only real choice is between the rocktails and the sturgeon, and that depends on a combination of how you value your time and how high your agility is (because agility xp is more valuable at lower levels when training is slower normally). jsboutin2
Rocktails are 80-90% as fast, net good profit and are easier to fish. I fished them, and I loved it.
Stev
Rocktails are 'easier' in that its less clicking and generally less work, useful if you like to multitask and watch movies etc GHehe, I wrote a simple program that makes windows of my choice transparent and click-throughable for exactly that. It makes my movie windows transparent yet still ontop of RS, while I can click through the movie to RS to click fishing spots, bank, etc. Lol. shawn3090
Or have RS minimized and hold your cursor over the taskbar (in vista) and you get a little popup so you can check if you are still fishing.
