Here's a brief summary of the short update I was going to do:

Plague spreads to Bulgaria after it conquers Hungary, which had the plague from the corpses the Mongols were using

Bulgaria conquers Hungary, losing 0.5 infrastructure and gaining 6 million in budget, but only 2 million this five year period.

Mongols are moving westward in greater numbers

Oh yes, Zeirids have been infected by the plague after a mysterious no-flag ship came bearing heaps of plague-infested corpses. They seem to be a mixture of Mongolian and Hungarian corpses. The border patrol successfully blocked the ship, but managed to pass on the plague before they presented symptoms.

 

As a result, the Asiatic countries have been reinfected with the plague, and South Africa has been infected for the first time. Enjoy. :thumbup:

Huge fortification covering the areas you don't want them to go, while don't even strengthen areas you do, so let them travel into Scandinavia with a large wall of troops, and then they die from the cold and disease.

Might be hard to build such a large set of fortifications in a year. Maybe if you gathered all the spare working men from Europe who weren't actually doing something (drunks and hobos), then maybe you might able to do something well, but you'd probaly need most of the countries to pitch in with manpower and monies to pay them. Also, remember that the Mongols have already owned the Great wall of China with trebuchets, so maybe more of a rampart kinda defence would work.

Ah sorry mather... it looks like I should have added a light on fire clause to how I was getting rid of plague corpses (put em on rickety ships and leave them at sea). At any rate I will donate all of my (non infected) peasants to the cause of building a [cabbage] tonne of fortifications.

Perhaps Ross uses his earthbreakers (Could be funded by other countries too) to dig a large trap around the armies routes, but leave the path through Scandinavia free. We could probably also defend the line with a large army of malita and peasents and other troops.

 

While in Scandinavia we have a moderate sized force, which pushes out the Mongolians when they get far enough, as then the cold and terrain will start to set in, as they're beaten by nature itself we move in, and they're unable to retreat as that would be going through what they just endured again, and their forces will probably get massacred. We then reinforce the European line with the new army from Scandinavia, we can cover the Mongolian side with the army, causing a sort of sandwhich for the Mongolians, who get crushed by both sides.

Well, the plague obvouisly isn't THAT dangerous...If you can have it and still be a menace to Europe then its not that serious. I say do your best to avoid it, but it can't be that bad.

 

Side note, huge parabolic disks of polished copper are being errected.

Mirrors are being arranged like beacons, allowing early warning by shining a bright light...that is their only use... :unsure: :thumbsup:

The Mongols have had the plague for several hundred years, so it's like smallpox with the Europeans. The Europeans used blankets instead of corpses, but they weren't as affected as the native Americans. Same thing with the Mongols. :)

I just had a really good/bad idea! What if we were to purposefully infect the mongols with a disease like smallpox (let me do a bit of research on infectious disease) to hurt their army thus negating any bonus they gained from the bubonic plague.

Bulgarian plague workers with suits head to Hungary to burn down infected houses and corral infected people

Hungarian Peasants are mad at the burning, and accuse the plague workers of murdering them, because many people seem to die when they are around

Bulgaria sponsers a study where two villages are isolated, one without plague workers and one with plague workers, attempting to demonstrate that plague workers help

Peasants are appalled that they are using human testing while the dumb ones don't know what studies are. Some peasants attempt to leave country.

Bulgaria sends orthodox clerics to tell the fleeing peasants to trust in god and to stay within the country

Orthodox clerics are struck down by the plague in mass numbers, while the rest return to Bulgaria, causing several high level Orthodox leaders to be struck down by plague. Orthodox church in turmoil.

Peasants fleeing from Hungary have spread the plague to Poland

Anyways; quarantenes are set up, those that are infectedwith bubonic are put in designated housings in normal cities, divided from the seemingly healthy with a palisade, guards in sparce towers are told to remind anyone that try to cause an uprising due to it that it is merely in place to better the chances for those not infected. While those who have got the septic are told that they will simply not survive but will suffer, they are offered a quick death or banishement.

Also construction of devices that use the sun to heat water which is sent through a pipe to a valve (from pneumatics/steam research), to a Y-pipe where a similiar input for cold water also enter and into a pipe with an endcap filled with small holes which protudes from the cieling of a small room. The hot water tank is constructed from a large iron vat with aluminum lining inside and can contain large amounts of water while the cold water comes from a natural source. The floor of the small rooms has drains.
