In order to stop this from getting too far: A MOAB would turn it to shrapnell, end of story.

Ok, a Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb would turn it to shrapnell.

*sigh*

It's essentially a nuclear weapon. Has the same destructive capabilities of it.

The sea doesn't really have much terrain. Any smart admiral will stay out of reefs, so that's out of the window, and storms basically affect both sides equally...

I think you're confusing strategy and tactics, Dusty. You just need to do something like "If the enemy ships do X, then we do Y, if not, then use plan Z which I told you about earlier. If the chance is given, activate W, wherupon my forces shall retreat to point V, do U, and begin preperations for T"

Where the enemy is doesn't particularly matter. You just need to include another instruction in case of a certain terrain type IE "If there is a reef nearby, try to move around it so the enemy cannot engage us at close range"

That is more or less what I've been doing, anyway.

But it uses conventional explosives. To be a nuclear weapon it'd have to use either fission or fusion to amplify the blast, what the MOAB and other such explosives use is rapid combustion.

Doesn't destroy the other ship in 'a second' but destroys two contemporary battleships while sustaining minimal damage itself...and would doubtlessly be able to destroy many more battleships.

Which was the only thing I claimed they were able to do.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

We were talking about vs. a modern battleship, a modern rocket launcher would be all that it took to take out a galley.

Once Ironclads came into play then they became the ship of the technological time period.

You don't read much, do you?

I think you're confusing strategy and tactics, Dusty.

What's visibility at? Is there fog? What time of day is it? Are we close to shore? How long would it take reinforcements to come up? Is the water choppy or calm?

Plenty of ways that tactics in a sea battle can depend on the terrain.

And no, I'm not.

Exactly. So, we've advanced into the Renaissance era, so everyone will soon get Arquebus'.

I am not sure thats how technology works...I am pretty sure the Aztecs didn't see the Spainyards and advance to the contemporary modern era when they saw cannons.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Of course not, because they were in completely different continents and had none of the means to replicate it. However, Spain and Crete is hardly similar to Spain and the Aztecs.

Dusty, you're just trolling now.

Everyone else (I accept that this means myself too), we should stop replying to anything he says about this. The game doesn't even work on a "ship of the age" system that way. It's secret technology, that one nation has, and it uses gunpowder. Archi, can we just tell him the propulsion method?

No, cuz saing I read much would be like saying a nuclear war would kill many people.

I will just confirm that Archi does not have Ironclads.

Why is it that whenever an argument comes up on the internet, someone always just instinctively yells 'z0mg troll don't respond!!'

And if it uses gunpowder then why would you start a 2 page argument before saying it didn't use gunpowder? Oh I know, trolling!

I don't know....Crete has advanced technology, Spain doesn't....The paralles are definately there.

Not really.

The Aztecs were a tribal dictatorship with a limited range of technology. Spain is a feudal monarchy that is only behind in technology when dealing with this single ship. The parallels are definitely not there.

I now own those two tiny islands between Iceland and Europe.

How.

They were uninhabited, so he just claimed them.

A typo on doesn't?

Anyway, last post on the matter (since Retech ultimately decides things not us).

Spain is maybe 30 years behind Crete, which isn't that long in History....Look at the Soviet Union.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.
