Ye Olde Hegemony

Hey, Retech, is there any way to increase your budget without gaining more land or creating trade routes? I'm kind of stuck, unable to do either of those two, and sick of my budget only being 10 million.

Nice job Retech, you did great.

And yeah Dusty, I figured you'd go with the "BURY THEM WITH OUR CORPSES" footslogger style defense, and in all honesty, the Rutracido was more or less designed specifically with you in mind, to counter that :P

The peasant mob was the counter to it. Cheap bodies to stop the things, that's why I used 'em (usually I just use peasants as a giant mob of reserves).

And the dragonater has a very viable technique behind it. It's so very simple, yet nobody thought of it.

Riiight. Somehow I don't believe that, given Hegemony's history of ludicrous technology powered by the most abstract and unrealistic propulsion methods.

This is completely and utterly false and/or misinterpreted. What I said was that I was afraid Dusty would try and attack me via Bruges, so I asked Antwerp to form a defensive militia.

This is true.

Nobles are asked to call up a militia, and this means Antwerpan nobles too, to defend against an attack from Bruges.

50 galleys are to defend the coasts.

Also, I contact Bruges and Antwerp. I suggest an alliance, offering those two random islands between Iceland and Europe. I also ask if they need some extra troops for conquests, offering the assistance of my soldiers.

You know Bruges is my vassal state right?

And who says I'm against you, Dusty? I didn't commit to that attack, obviously I made the right decision. And to hell with vassals, Bruges likes you but it's still relatively independent.

It's allowed self-governance, which keep in mind is a lot better than any other of the smaller countries that have just been unceremoniously gobbled up by the major powers, while enjoying the relative safety and security of knowing that if anyone tries to screw with them big bad Spain will come over and bash their skulls in.

You're saying that instead of having that deal, they'll instead break their vassalage (ie. declare war on Spain), and try and make it as simply an 'ally' of some tiny little island over in the Atlantic that doesn't even really have an army - just a bunch of annoying horseman that ride around and burn stuff? You think they'd do that all for a pair of crummy islands made out of frost that nobody can do anything with? Ha!

And Nex you did commit to the attack. You had your Hlapuri try and burn my ships, your spies contaminate my water supplies in Northern spain, and tried to make a revolt rise up against me.

Honestly Dusty, it's so simple.

Ask Retech, if you want, he can confirm that it is extremely viable.

I shall, but the last time I asked how something worked that had been used on me and I even had access to all I received in response was that 'it goes whooosh'. Helpful.

Mmm, but it's kind of a no-win situation. If he gives away too much information, then it's no longer a secret, if he gives too little, you aren't satisfied.

2Xeo5.png

I didn't contaminate the water, at least I didn't say for them to do it.

Also, I don't remember planning a revolt. That was part of Archi's old plan.

Besides, all I did was suggest a friendly alliance to a non-committed mercenary nation. I'll fight for you, or Kiev, or anyone else who can at least make it worth the fight. I don't care about petty conflicts that would just destroy my nation at this point, I want to actually do something for my own gain for once.

Oh, okay, I get it now. Doom betrayed all of us instead of me betraying all of us. What a strange twist.

I mentioned a few times I was gonna use strategy similar to Rocco. No one noticed, haha.

EDIT: Any chance I could see the most recent map?

When will we see a damn invasion by Asia? The NPCs are dumb as rocks, you should have them invade much more often.

In fact, that would be a good way to make it so that Kiev doesn't randomly destroy everything, have the Mongols come back. :P

Working out terms with Dungeonal and Doom atm.

Good report, only flaw I can see Is I ordered my Cogs to retreat to Zeirid if the battle started to go south. Wouldn't have changed the war though.

Oh, I remembered that. Your ships went into the strait, before being blown to pieces before they could get out.

Crete offers a wonderful settlement.

Spain and co can go to hell.

I think it is both fair and just.

In other news, all alliances and such are recinded, as well as all deals.

Castheo will remain an open port for as long as Ross wants it open, with a small contingent of Cretians remaining until it is closed.

Crete declares disinterest, and begins building a stairway to heaven.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

thts archi for yeh, he can back down in the blinkof an eye, or hold out his deals and then stab you in the back.

Meh.

Face, bothered?

The next 20 years in a nutshell:

Europe is dominated by the Dusty-Dungeonal-Doom Coalition.

Remaining nations pimp themselves out to avoid being killed.

Crete stands firmly before eventually being killed by a European taskforce, and unlike Dusty, Archi won't have a shiny knight to save him.

Do you really think that I want to give away 5 years of protection to satisfy a deal?

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Hehe, something like that.

I don't see why I should honour a deal to level the playing field when I need all the advantages I can get.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Well, looks like we've reached the point where everyone goes; "Gah!" [cheatnuke]

Guess we will find out what will happen if The Duke of Wellington had gone 'Wheel our forces around and attack Blücher. Napoleon for Emperor!'

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Gah, of course the day I have my forces ready to attack, the battle is set. I'm always one step behind on this :wall:
