Zibl Posted July 2, 2010 Share Posted July 2, 2010 Anybody listen to Eminem? His recent album, Recovery, was released recently. Just wondering what anybody thought. I'm not a die hard Eminem fan or anything, but I do realize the fact that he is straight up BEAST when it comes to lyrics & his flow. Personally, I enjoyed Recovery on most parts. My 3 favorite songs are No Love, Love the Way You Lie, and Talkin' to Myself. "Not Afraid", which seems to be getting tons of radio time around where I live, didn't impress me all that much. And most of the other songs from the album weren;'t as impressive as I expected, but I enjoy them none the less. Thoughts? tripsis Posted July 2, 2010 Share Posted July 2, 2010 I LOVE it. I was very disappointed with Relapse.. there were maybe one or two songs that I liked at all, and I didn't *love* any of them. But I'm really impressed/pleased with Recovery. And although I haven't listened to Recovery in full yet, the bits and pieces I've heard through friends, the radio, etc. have been pretty decent, almost enough for me to throw out all my inhibitions regarding the genre, but not quite. Sixty to seventy percent of the city I live in is black and it's very territorial and has tons of gangs, so it's a given I hear a lot of rap everywhere. Needless to say, I hate all forms of it except Eminem. While he does do a few gangsta kind of things, his rap seems like the purist form of rap around. Not all of his songs are about gang banging and such and tons of his songs have really positive messages. And his comedy raps are really funny. I didn't like No Love at all until Eminem started, can't stand wayne with a passion....he's an overrated POS whos relied on autotune for the past few years, his old stuff was decent. Iamdan Posted July 11, 2010 Share Posted July 11, 2010 The only song I like so far is love the way you lie, but I often have to listen to a song a few times before I like it so I might get into others later. It made me go back and listen to encore. I kinda liked it when I first listened to it when it came out, but I've really only just realized how good of an album it is.
