The thing with buying a basic guitar is that it's never going to be good. You can adjust and alter whatever you like, but it doesn't change the fact that you bought a POS to begin with. If you want to get the most out of your guitar, take it to a shop for a professional setup. Aside from that, there's not a lot you can do if you're not willing to shell out the extra cash for a better model. Kirk and Lars I could handle. At the same time. Gibson are famous for good quality instruments, but the last few new LPs I've played have been horrible, bad fretting and a bad setup. That aside, if you order off the net you will almost always need to set up your guitar afterwards. Even minute changes in humidity will alter the neck. Lolos Posted April 1, 2006 Share Posted April 1, 2006 learn ur major scales. learn ur dominant 7th scales. learn ur minor scales. learn ur minor 7 flat 5 scales. learn whole tone scales. learn diminished and half diminished which is minor 7 flat 5. practice permutations. 1235, 1345, and stuff. know ur scales by heart.play with good time. no good time = horrible. know ur chords by heart.TIME TIME TIME is always necessary. if u have no good time, that = no gigs ever. practice with other people :D it helps. do that and you will become a great improviser. don't live trying to play Jimi Hendrix. don't base your playing on his playing. It's what HE did not you. play your own stuff and compose. transcribe Jimi Hendrix solo's, even though there's a lot out there, do it your self. learn treble and bass clef. learn piano. if you do this, i expect too see u become a pro :o . well that's a lot. or if you're doing it for fun, you can take your time, but remember always to practice 8) . p.s. learn other styles of music, for example jazz. jazz will help you with tecnique. hope that helps Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It will play through your computer speakers as it records in Audacity. Then get a USB microphone and record a track over that and you have yourself guitar and vocals. Then do the same thing with a decent set of drums and percussion mics, as well as a bass, midi synth (which you can plug straight in the midi port if your sound card has one) and you have a song :D.
