runesmithie
I guess I might as well put my guitar progress on here for others to rate: Day 1: I spent the whole night tuning it, nothing recorded Day 2: I'm the next Jimi Hendrix, no? Click Day 3: Still having trouble with fingering the thicker strings, but here's what I've gotten sort of good at today Click Day 4: On to the next lesson, I finally found a better place for my fingers inbetween frets  Click Day 5 and 6: No time  Day 7: Still no time... Day 8: Learning chords, not much to record really :P Day 9: Still memorizing my report >.< Day something...: Oh Pretty Woman ... isn't so pretty anymore :( Click Day something other: Oh Pretty Woman is getting some makeup ^.^ .html]Click Day something other + a month or two: You're Beautiful followed by Oh Pretty Woman Click I would love suggestions... Poopingman
Everyone plays guitar these days, or at least tries to, which makes it much more unappealing to pursue musically. Good luck, for what its worth. Metal fans, check out my band!Still the King....

Rizla
Not bad for day 1, what did you use to record? Kirk and Lars I could handle. At the same time.
runesmithie
Not bad for day 1, what did you use to record? I stuck a little microphone up next to the amp (I really thought it'd sound crappier, since this was a really cheap microphone that came with a webcam a long time ago) and recorded it with Audacity I just posted something! ^_^ to the terrorist...er... kirbybeam. Amy
Not bad :) I play guitar alot (I know, weird huh? lol), but I usually try to play some Metallica / Three Days Grace songs, which i mostly learned myself by listening to the songs over and over again :P Good luck with your progress, i'll check in now and then to see how you're doing :)
assassin_696
Not too shabby, keep at it! :) I've played the classical guitar for a while now, i'm doing my Grade 5 soon. I bought an electric a year or so ago, didn't play it much but i've picked it up again for music GCSE performances and compositions and whatnot. The amps broken though atm so i have to borrow the schools. My latest thing i'm trying to learn is Pinball Wizard, Townshend is a god :P "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

No one likes the didgeridoo. didgeridoos can go to hell. but really if your just starting riffs that are easy play are some of the Red Hot Chili Pepper's riffs. oilertay
I could record my drum routines, but I don't feel like buying any decent drum mikes :P If I was to just just cheap mikes all you'd hear would be the echo of the snare in my small room :P [Admin Edit: Religious text Not permitted]~108 combat~5.9k dusties killed / dragon chain :D
Rizla
but really if your just starting easiest riffs to play are Red Hot Chili Pepper's riffs. I'm not sure i'd agree with that. Chili's use a lot of finger picking, i've always advised people to learn songs by people like Nirvana or Green Day, mainly because they use power chords (for the most part), and any solo's they play are easy to figure out. Kirk and Lars I could handle. At the same time.

Californication (plus the solo), Otherside, By the Way, Under the Bridge, Save the Population were pretty easy riffs beginners could probably learn. I'll just say some of their riffs are easy. BUT DO NOT PLAY GREENDAY RIFFS BECAUSE GREENDAY SUCKS.
jaklumen
Everyone plays guitar these days, or at least tries to, which makes it much more unappealing to pursue musically. Good luck, for what its worth. well, a vast majority play rock styles. Not so many play classical. Then you have your subset that play folk. Anyone out there that play folk rock tunes? Y'know, acoustic stuff of the '70s... Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce, James Taylor... oh. I must be showing my age...
