Have you ever been jealous of the Wise Old Mans lovely party hat? Ever wondered just why goutweed is so popular with trolls? Perhaps youve enjoyed battling alongside Zanik or helping Veldaban solve dwarven mysteries? Well, this weeks live Q&A session should be a treat for you.

On Friday 23nd July at 9pm (BST/forum time), well be hosting a live forum questions and answer session with two of RuneScapes developers: Mod Ash and Mod John A. They have both been behind major quests; Mod Ash's previous projects include My Arms Big Adventure, Swan Song and the Wise Old Mans latest adventure, Love Story, while Mod John A is best known for his work on goblin quests like The Chosen Commander, and the continuation of the dwarf storyline with Forgiveness of a Chaos Dwarf.

So get your questions for Mod Ash and Mod John A ready, and make sure youre on the forums when the question thread is unlocked at 9pm. Questions should be posted on this forum thread and the answers will be posted on this forum thread. Have you got your thinking cap on? Oh yes, you look lovely. Enjoy the session!

Seems like a pretty niche Q&A to be honest. I doubt they will even be able to answer half the questions asked.

I rather dislike the Q&A's that are limited to specific categories, such as quests. Hopefully somebody enjoys it.

I have a question I'm going to ask:

"When Tower of Life was released, Jagex mentioned on the forums that the quest was partially to test out a new concept they had designed, where qualities of an item were bound to the item itself, rather than the account of the player. In the forum postings, it was revealed that there were plans to expand this, introducing features such as weapons that grew more powerful as you used them, the ability to trade Barrows armor in a damaged state (as the damage was tied to the item, not the account, currently the reason said armor is untradeable while degraded), and more. It's been three years since Jagex talked about this, and nothing has come of it since, have the plans been scrapped?"

I can see a lot of questions in the field of:

1. The digsite quest.

2. Zaros.

3. The mahjarrat ritual

4. Mother Mallum.

I can see a lot of the answers in the field of :

1. We can't answer that at this time.

Like Omali said, I'm expecting 9/10 answers to be "you'll just have to wait and see!" or "there are no plans to implement such a feature at this time."

I read a lot of MMO Q&A's, and I have to say Jagex has the most boring sessions.

But that would kill the cbow/c shield trick! :(

I would rather see "live" video Q&A sessions over stickam or something like that where you ask a question in a chat box and they answer it in person. Oh well. This will be interesting none the less.

I can't even imagine the [cabbage]storm that a live webcam Q&A session would be.

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

I'd love to see something like that.

Ask them hard questions and watch them squirm.

Well, at least we know now that al lot of updates are on hold or not even started yet. And that the first quest with those adventurers has the code name "Tome Raider", about the white knight guy trying to escape from prison.

I have to admit I normally love content Q&A's but was there really any need for this one? I love the fact that they want to speak with us players but if they can't say anything for most questions what is the point of it?

To prove that they are actually communicating with the players, regardless of if they're doing it well or not.

Personally I think they communicate enough and even if you don't believe so it's a waste of time holding a Q&A session if 90% of the questions you can't reveal the answer. I don't complain about Jagex normally, but to me this feels like a waste of time.

Can't be assed to screenshot it now but it's in there somewhere. Mod Ash more or less confirmed that they plan to release Dung batch 2 next month as he said they plan to release it before Runefest which is on August 28th.

He also said he wasnt 100% sure. :P

Summary I made since they are done now:

[hide]Mod John A is working on the next Red Axe Quest.

Trolls will be involved in this quest.

Will maybe be done at the end of the year or early next year.

The current plan is for all troll graphics to get updated with the next dwarf quest.

Mod Fnord is working on a quest featuring a signature hero, but he's waiting for the graphics team before he can finish.

Later it is mentioned that a signature hero quest with the white knight hero and the quest being called "Tomb Raider".

It is also said you need to break the white knight hero out of jail.

Eastern Lands wont come out untill the current continent is finished.

Kudo's island is too big of a graphic project at the moment.

Mod Dylan (the maker of MEP2) is the person working on Elemental Workshop Quests at the moment.

The Next Myreque Quest is being worked on currently.

Not 100% sure, but it doesnt look like its coming in 2010.

Mod Maz is working on a Dev Diary related update. We know this though, its the Elite Diaries.

No plans to reveal the thingummywhat as of this date.

The thing under Wise Old Man's bed was actually supposed to be a goblin. Mod Ash knows it looks nothing like one though.

There currently is no work being done on:

- Kudo's Island

- The Cursed Archipelago

- Castle Drakan

Double EXP weekend doesnt have a date yet. (Duh)

There is an activity being worked on which will be out this year. (We know this, its from the Void Knight Quests)

Mod Ash: "Mind you, I loved the video trailer for the Void Knight quest. I'd have liked one of those for Love Story."

There wasnt a video trailer for the void knight quest, might be refering to the dungeoneering one though.

Mod John A drinks too much coffee.

Mod Ash drinks Hot Earl Gray tea with milk and no sugar.

Mod Ash says they want Dungeoneering Batch 2 out before RuneFest, he could be wrong about that though.

Gnome chatheads were started to get updated, but the graphic dev's got moved over to dungeoneering.

They want to update tree's but havent had time.

More fashion clothes and costumes for girls coming soon.

Monkey Madness 2 is not being worked on.[/hide]
