We have powerplayed and streamlined to the point of perfection. :-(

Nah, it used to be that when someone zerged that other people would drown them in a sea of protests/quit.

Now when someone zergs, because the rules allow it, people whine but the zerg stands and no one quits....Hence the game is over very quickly.

Course, the other thing is that the moderator tends to try to balance the game, and because moderators are fallible the balance always goes wrong...Where as before people would uber when other people ubered and when they collided they would argue until someone gave up...or until something more interesting happened.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

I wish I could've played, it seems so much more fun than anything else you people have ever tried.

That's not nice. Let's not try and put down anyone especially those who take the time to create new games.

Fun Fact: If it wasn't for the popularity of Hegemony the Tavern would have never existed.

Archimage, I thought the last person to zerg (I assume this means rush because normally people say Zerg Rush) was banned from the game.

Rocco, your right.

If we just keep to the rule of 'be reasonable within these constraints' we could still make a good game out of it.

Now that you come to mention it...I can't remember why Hex was banned, I think it was something to do with several someones asking me to create a poll removing him.

Personally I had very little against him.

I meant in the sense that all the other hegemonys have promply been played for short periods of time before being abandoned, I like the D'neering and the other games but I feel that any changes to the origional game have just not worked and people seem to ignore the fact that whatever they do, as long as it doesn't follow the fundementals of the origonal hegemony (Which was freedom, which was a demomcracy, which was simple, which seemed fun) is just going to be a mediocre copy of a better thing (kind of like soy milk or substitute meats)

Archimage, I think it was just a load of little things but you know, I'm just hearing gossip.

You know what, we should make a new thread called 'hegemony creation thread' in which we will discuss what we like about hegemony and we put a poll up for everything and such.

Who got banned for zerging?

10:53 PM - retech9691: I feel the need
10:53 PM - retech9691: To include many chasms in my story arc
10:53 PM - Resistance: You mean plotholes?

Remember, Remember, the 4th of November

RIP Dawngate ;-;

Not this again ><, he was banned, imo, because he wouldn't leave the thread alone after sufficient warning, though I believe that it was taking it too far.

Btw Archi though you've had that sig for ages, it never stops making me think very deeply about things ><.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

how are you going to ignore my posts when I'm offering to let you live as my vassal in two weeks time?

I secretly reveal over 9000 troops in Berlin.

The sour dough of the epitmous pie hungers for another's sweet lips to be dulled into a state of most irreverant humbleness

He stealthily nuked the wall and then stealthily sent troops through the gap in very sneaky helicopters.

INVISIBLE HELICOPTERS!

Yeah Hex zerged Iran after Ross refused to let him place a zillion nukes underneath the entire country (lol), and I was the only one beside Hex who had built a military at that point (big surprise there...), and so I sent my troops over to defend Iran despite the fact that me and Ross always end up trying to kill each other late game anyways...

The first hegemony was epic, but when I think back, the only war that ever happened was Kazakhia and Israel attacking the Nazis, but no one could decide how to work it out, so we just pretended it never happened.

And there was that time Pirate_Felix got uber pwned by Doom and Dusty. Oh the fun.

Then there was this war:

The German and Russian militaries have met in an orgy of violence in Torun, Poland and…well, that’s not really what happened actually. You were thinking that’s what it was going to be, yeh? Eh, this is more like what happened:

(except for that bit about The Irish there at The end...)

Germany declares war on:

Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Yugoslavia (Bosnia), Hungary, Albania, Denmark, France, Luxembourg, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Serbia, Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, Georgia, Turkey, Poland, Romania, Iceland and Ukraine.

Germany is also glad that it can do away with its false pretenses, and has renamed itself The Fourth Reich. Oh look, a new flag!

Related news:

The explosives that were put underneath The buildings in Belgium that I helped “repair” have been detonated, causing The partial and full destruction of numerous factories, hospitals, and a few military outposts/bases.

German air force has staged a massive bombing on Luxembourg, with The main areas being targeted The Luxembourg parliamentary buildings and military air bases in Luxembourg, destroying a huge number of LAARTs before they could get off The ground (yay sneak attack). Also, The 100,000 troops that Iran placed under my command for The invasion of Russia have been taken prisoner in case Iran decides to interfere with this European conflict.

Air Germany’s commercial airliners had been converted to carry military bombs, and were used to bomb The parliamentary buildings of France, Denmark, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, Romania, and Ukraine. This should impede their response to The German invasion, as their governments have taken a huge hit, in some cases losing both presidents and vice-presidents.

1.5 million German troops have surfaced from The tunnels, and are now attacking Luxembourg’s capital.

The 50,000 German troops that were “lost at sea” a few pages back have also resurfaced. they were taken back into German ports at night-time and repainted as civilian ships, and have been waiting in a smugglers port in Algeria (in exchange for a copious amount of money) for orders. they received their orders a short while ago, and have landed their troops in Italy as of last night. The troops are now attacking Vatican City.

1 million troops have moved from Poland (half of which is under complete German control) into Ukraine.

Another 1 million troops have invaded Hungary and Slovenia, with 750,000 invading Slovakia.

An additional 750,000 troops are invading The former lands of Belgium.

The transports loaded with troops at Bremerhaven have left port, with a large navy escort, and are presently heading for France; around 85,000 in total.

Air supports and artillery support is there for these assaults, as well as several units with The new anti-tank weapons.

Around 8000 German “civilians” (they were soldiers, actually) that emigrated to Iceland after The coup were actually part of an operation that was put in place for control of The island. they have come together, and using The arms that were smuggled into The country, are currently fighting for control of The island. their numbers have been bolstered by a further 4000 that were taken over hidden inside civilian merchant vessels (their arrival timed to coincide with The declaration of war). these vessels also carried several APCs and LAVs and hand-held SAMs to assist in The takeover of The island.

Germany would like to take this opportunity to guarantee The independence of The UK, Norway, Bulgaria, Finland, and Somalia, as long as they do not take part in this war.

And WW5 that saw Britain taken over by the Terran Federation, and most of Asia aside from what Malaysia controlled come under the rule of the Federation.

I still don't understand how your forces managed to get into Indonesia and hold even part of it. I had fifty freakin supercarriers! Fifty! The US Navy has like...five or ten. -calms down-

Yet I don't regret destroying the world with anthrax bombing. That's what happens when you use superweapons against a nation with superweapons! A world without a powerful Japan is not a world at all!:
