Napoleonic Hegemony

Prussia commends Russia on its forward thinking and dispatches 250,000 loaves of bread(500,000 pounds of bread) to Russia, brought from various sources, with a net gain of 2.5 million ducats for Prussia.

Assumed food prices doubled during the starvation.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Isn't aid supposed to be free?

Prussian merchants are undercut by the Russian government, which is giving out the bread for free. Net loss of 2.5 ducats for Prussia and a lot of bread. :P

Errr...The Prussians SOLD the bread to the Queen of Russia...So...you know...they don't care what you do with it after that.

And, if the NEP taught us anything...its that putting a 'Bread for sale, cheap' outside an empty shop, does not solve hunger.

And the aid is what you got for free...Whatever the Prussian people decide you deserve.

The stuff you brought was brought...

Well I was buying bread, but not from Prussia. I was purchasing from the wealthier farmers in Russia, who have hundreds of acres of land. Keeps the money in the country.

Retech, whatever you decide, I don't particually mind, my citizens are not going to die because you are trying to buy bread from people who don't have bread.

As a side note, the Wealthy farmers are probably the intelligent ones...the ones who realised that they can get more money selling their food through Prussia, than having it expropriated by the crown...

Certainly, no one is going to be dying. Whatever I do, I will purchase bread from any other country than Prussia, because you are trying to exploit it and gain profit. If you came upfront and told me that you wanted to make a profit, then it might be different.

I am trying to find the article Rocco. :)

If you like...But if I were one of your Bourgeoisie...or someone who could count...I would realise that selling to Prussia, who then sells to Russia, makes you more money than selling direct to Russia.

That, or you have to pay over the odds, in which case I am exactly where I started, and you are worse off than if you let me make my profit.

So....

And I did say that I would sell them at the going rate where the poor people actually were...So my motives were quite clear.

Right, I missed that. :)

I will wait for Dusty to confirm that I need to buy any food though, since maybe the five million deducted was already for that. While Dusty wasn't sure if he should even give me a bonus for huge agricultural reforms, at the very least it should make Russia bountiful < lack of famine.

Famine isn't exactly something you can control, no amount of agricultural reforms will help you produce food if it isn't raining.

Icu, how did the redcoats and royal army suddenly get transported from Canada to Florida on your map?

And dungeonal has most definitely run out of money, but the people(s) bankrolling his war have not. I'm also completely unbiased in this matter, it just happens that your two armies got attacked by a superior force from two different sides.

Btw, the army that was in Florida was your colonial army, and that was nearly destroyed last round.

I was going to build granaries, but I don't even know if my reforms are producing excess food or not. My suggestion was in a PM that I sent.

Got some Internet access. But they could of gotten past in the time it took the Americans to reach me that is why I was pissed so. And I wondered how they kept with my budget. Anyway going to overthrow your decision cause I have proven they would not get caught....

It's a REALLY big shaft.

The Reign of Terror might have after effects, since:

You don't have the Guillotine

You haven't set up the Commitee of Public Safety

You haven't defeated the rebels

You haven't stolen/exopriated grain from the farmers

You haven't installed the French Calander

You haven't announced the End of Free Religion and founding of the Cult of the Supreme Being

You haven't had the Battle of Fleurus, which ended the terror

Napoleon is the President, rather than Herbert...so there are all sorts of changes there(Like the reinstitution of Slavery, Emanicipation of the Jews, ect, ect)

And various plots by various other countries are probably gonna have an effect as well.

This.

Kind of silly for the Reign of Terror to be merely a temporary buff (or in this case, negative 'buff') if you have done nothing to try to solve it.

It should end, because you can't end a negative buff early even if you try. For example, with nobility flight, all the nobles fled, leaving no administrators to govern Russia. However, I had trained administrators beforehand and founded civil service academies to train replacements (I foresaw having to kill them, or somehow get rid of them) but the negative buff still lasted for ten years.

If the event has a time on it, then that should be the set time.

The 5m hit is just one of the many downsides of being Russia.

UPDATES:

British-American War

-Britain can't really do anything, since they have no armies in the area

-America sends all their armies marching south to deal with the rebellion, easily destroys it with such an overwhelming numerical superiority

-Two rebellions pop up in Central and Northern America.

Rev. France

-Prominent Army General calls for the arrest of Robespierre and his execution for treason against the French people

-Reign of Terror still sweeps across France, and several of France's more moderate ministers are assassinated

-Spies from ??? salt French farmland in an attempt to increase the pressures on food production in the nation

-Riot in Versailles over exorbitant bread prices - Rev. France treasury -1,000,000 ducats for damages

-Riot in Dijon over Robespierre's political purges - Rev. France treasury -2,000,000 ducats for damages

-Rev. France's army marches to deal with the Counter-Revolutionaries in Northern France, and after a rather indecisive battle the Counter Revolutionaries flee across the border into the Netherlands, where they find grain shipments heading to Rev. France and steal them

-Counter-Revolutionary rebellion led by deposed nobles and aristocrats rises up in Brittany - 18,000 strong (4,000 hussars, 2,000 dragoons, 1,000 Cuiriassiers, 3,000 Fusiliers, 6,000 Line infantry, 2,000 Skirmishers, 10 cannon)

Well I quit the war.. Take em.. I am super pissed that I proved how they would make it out alive and I still lost em.. You won through luck if my attack went through you would of lost the war.. Actually if those rebellions aren't mine I don't give up my land

It's a REALLY big shaft.

Double post sorry.. But I am actually thinking about quiting completely that decision was a biased piss take it was [cabbage] that my army was killed so if the moderator can't see that my army travelling.a smaller distance.in their own land contested with a larger army travelling a longer distance with resistance.. I am sorry but that is totally biased that you don't see that

It's a REALLY big shaft.

Well... good luck, ICU, but sometimes this stuff just happens. I wasn't happy when Retech made my Hlaupari go against their training and charge into deep mud so that they got slaughtered, but my agitation changed nothing. If the game is no longer fun, well, maybe that's a sign that we'll be needing a new game soon. Maybe try sticking with it a bit longer, America's going through turmoil and you'll have more chances to strike.

No... It's not biased at all. You had your army in one spot, with order to travel to another, except there were only two routes you could take, both which had larger enemy forces tracelling along towards your position. If you had crossed the great lakes by boat you would have gotten away, but the route you took forced you to engage a superior force while another quickly approached from behind. The idea that a couple thousand colonial milita troops could slow down a force of regular troops in far superior numbers for even a short period is just silly. Not to mention it was a suicide mission so good luck getting them to even stay and fight in the first place.

The two revolts are in the USA.

The idea that a force double the size of my force could travel at an even similar speed is questionable. Ok I've calmed down a bit.

I'm just saying, it was a shorter distance, they would travel faster. Even with those few points I think they would have made it to safety.

Also I don't give up the war, this is just a setback, a LARGE setback, but I believe reset is close and you have rebellions to crush, you couldn't take ALL of America.

It's a REALLY big shaft.
