Mining iron ores?

Featured Replies

Everywhere I mine, I always lose when competing other miners. Everytime I click a rock, my character only starts to mine like 0.5seconds later (I'm not lagging) whereas the other character mines immediately.

I barely ever win a race when it comes to mining the ore, what do I do wrong :S?

If you're not lagging, then maybe you're exaggerating always being the one who loses the mini war over the iron ore?

I mine on average 1-3 ores when the other guy mines a whole inventory.

it's your ping. find a world with your lowest ping. if it's like really high (300+) then restart your modem or something. note 300+ ping is normal for couple worlds like aussie worlds if you don't leave near aussie.

It's about 100 for every world for me

If you can't win a race, you have to stop racing. Hop worlds until you have the spot to yourself.

I didn't ask for that, go mess with other people

He gave you exactly what you asked for, you asked for what you are doing wrong. What you are doing wrong is competing with other miners

Well, what else am I supposed to say? You shouldn't race if you don't think you can win. Mine rocks that other people aren't mining. It's better than trying to compete for every rock and never getting anything.

I always win a mining war, and get my fair share of insults for the privelage :D, but ONLY if im in an australian world (im from australia).

Basically, try to get into a server with minimal ping, and go from there. Also if theres 3 rocks, time it right so that you get all 3 rocks, instead of only 2. If your opponent cant get ANY ores, it doesnt take long for them to ragequit to another server.

If theres no server with minimal ping, im afraid theres nothing you can do except try and find an empty world, spot, or PVP world or something.

O.O

Ping of 38 and I'm losing them all. Ping is not the problem

The guy is 64 mining, I'm 84; level isn't the problem either

Bumping was useless, you obviously don't want to accept the advice you're getting, so nobody is going to bother to answer. Troacctid already told you what you need to do. It's up to you to listen.

This. You have no other choice but to hop. Stop being stubborn.

I'm in reallife a scientist. If something fails, it has a reason for failing. The fact you guys don't want to solve the problem is ok for you, but I'm asking for the problem here. Stop messing my thread if you aren't interested in the problem occuring

Maybe you should work your way around the problem by looking for a different mining spot?

Are you p2p? There's a place with lots of iron rocks and there's noone ever there and in 3 clicks you'll be in your bank banking.

Though it's odd that i receive an ore whenever i mine a vein as long as the other miner doesn't mine the rock before me, thus if we mine the vein simultaneously we both get ore.

Same when cutting down trees.

Am i the only one? This has always been like this and i've been playing for a looooong time.

Last time i checked the scientific process does not involve asking people on a forum and not taking their (good) advice seriously. maybe its your internet connection, maybe its your mining level, but to be honest if this problem is plaguing you enough to cause you to ask people on forums then your stupid not to take toacctid's advice.

Read my posts:

Ping of 38, it's not the problem.

My mining level is 84, the other guy was 64, the level isn't the problem.

You call me stupid, I rather call you stupid for not reading what I posted

Looks like you're more interested in arguments than in getting your problem solved.

Last time i check this thread.

No, I'm not the one who trolls this thread, I want to know why the other guys get the ore instead of me. I don't want to know there are other mining spots, as those answers are obvious.

There are some reasons possible:

  • You have a slower ping. You said this is not the case.
  • You have a lower mining level. Again, not the case.
  • You have slower reflexes. Practice mining, look for competition.
  • You have worse luck. Suck it up.
