I'm sure WOW is very nice, but if you don't grasp the RS stat system yet, why are you suggesting to change it? It is what it is, that's what makes Runescape more simple than other games. The skill you're describing is similar to the preexisting Slayer skill, by the way.

They should call this game World Of Warcraft then.

Doing so will change how Runescape works completely. I know lots of games like Ragnarok, Maple Story, MU Online... well, almost every MMORPG uses this form, but that doesn't mean Runescape should follow them... It's like the runes instead of mana idea.

Sorry about the caps lock, my keyboard was broken. I like the level-up system that Jagex Ltd. has generated, but....uhm how should i say this? The levelup sytem is great, but i wish it was a little bit easier for people to level. One of my friends hates this game, but likes Guld Wars, and i cant seem to get him to play it. I asked him why?, and he said that it was because of the stat system they use. I agree it is a very well written ( meaning coded) system, but i want him to play it with me 'cuz he lives all the way in MN, and i see him maybe twice a year. I don't care if it changes, or stays the same but it wouldn't bother me either way.

I'm sorry that your friend won't join, I really am, but Jagex isn't going to redesign their whole game based on one person wanting one friend to join. If they don't like it, they don't like it.

I guess your right, but not so much as all of the stats would be redesigned, just the attck, defense, strength, and hitpoints. I guess if anything, it would be more like Diablo 2.

It makes sense. If you only train in a defensive style of combat, you get better at defending yourself.

Yeah That makes sense too, Runescape does have more realistic features than other games.

Why dont you just buy Guild Wars? Then you and your friend could play a game with a leveling system you like and you could talk to each other.

I can't, my internet service is way to slow to handle that game, and plus my PC is not able to handle the graphics.

Guild Wars runs perfectly on a 28.8kbps connection. You'd only experience latency when downloading updates, new areas, and when the servers are overloaded. Otherwise, you'll have minimal if any lag.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

yeah right lets do it the guild wars way, where u can max out your combat in a week or 2 and no non combat skills :roll:

And Guild Wars has a much better combat and PVP system than Runescape? I don't see how the game itself comes into this. The main argument for it is that you can only push your attributes so far, but you can slide them up and down to suit particular strategic needs. That won't work in Runescape, but it sure works in Guild Wars.
