Pvp armour is often overlookered for pvping, why use bandos for str or torags for defence when you can use stat or vesta to beat both. The hour it lasts is more than enough becuase who really lasts an hour of combat without ever dieing (excluding rushers) so using better gear in the long run will save you money (10 vesta sets per one bandos).

Bandos also has better range defence than torags.

Because PvP Armor protects over more valuable items.

And because PVP armor, y'know, disappears after an hour. That's kind of relevant.

Use 160 Stab with turmoil and stats potted above 115 takes care of waterfiends like you were using a crush weapon, but you aren't. 100+ crims an hour, familiar not necessary like usual. ;)

It might seem as though you are killing them at the same pace or faster, but it's actually not true. I tested my chaotic rapier at them with ~max stab and got 24k slayer xp an hour at ancient caverns, which is like 5-10% less than i would have got with saradomin sword, this all being on task, so off task CR would be much worse, and CLS would be terrifyingly bad. CM is still the best weapon there by ~6%. Also, halos are another item worth discussion on this thread- no doubt they are never worth getting(just like the MA rings), but the people that have them seem to prefer this reduced drain to more defense and 5 stab/3 str and 3 prayer, which undoubtedly slows you down. Although it's easy to calculate how much money you'd have to be making to wear one over the other, you also have to take into account the value of the time you'll be saving- if you win 2 minutes every hour, that's 2 minutes more xp, 2 minutes more drops too, and in the long run, this extra is just invaluable.

No, you said it disappears after an hour, meaning if you put it on at 08.00 it'll disappear at 09.00

 

In reality, it lasts for the appropriate number of game ticks when you are either dealing or receiving damage. If I wanted to wear some while making potion in the bank, it'd never disappear.

Errm, but the real problem with this logic is that PVP armor is better for pking on pvp worlds than bandos, but noone really uses bandos to pk on pvp worlds(rushers really aren't pkers) and the people that would pk in bandos don't die every hour- so really, pvp armor is better for pking than bandos, but bandos is never used, so pvp armor is never used.

There are a lot of people who lose Bandos in Pvp worlds, just watch some pk vids lol

 

Also for PvP, if you're gonna sacrifice defense for attack bonuses, at least sacrifice it for something more useful like your shield slot for a maul or your cape/helm/boots/shield for mage attack

Point is, PVP armor is useful if you actually PK.
