Another.. Nomad Thread

I'm currently 0-10 against nomad, and I was using black dhide, neitiznot, snakeskin boots, glory, guthix book, rune c'bow, and ruby (e) bolts.. and I've also tried using void gear (which seems to work better then the dhide).

 

Now, the problem is every time he gets down to his berserker mode I end up running out of brews every time... so I was wondering if I should try meleeing him with a zammy spear?

 

I'm 99 strength and attack, but only 78 ranged. so I'm not to sure what I should be doing overall...

 

My inven looks like this;

 

11 Super Restores (4)

15 Brews (4)

Spirit Kyatt Pouch (for when tort runs out of brews, I summon this and spam click the ambush scrolls)

100 Ambush Scrolls

 

My tort carries 18 Brews (4)

If brews arn't working for you try rocktails instead. I found they worked better since i didn't have to spend as much time healing.

I had this problem.

My solution was the pillars method.

 

If you stand beside the pillar directly north of you when fight starts and attack nomad.

When the fire vortexes appear you will be safe, and 1 square behind the pillar will be safe.

When Nomad teles to do the 750 attack dive behind the pillar, attack once he misses.

When nomad teles again (for the clones) hide again, during this stage he won;t do the "face me!" "coward" thing and after around 30 seconds the clones tele out so you can attack again.

Then obv the lp-10 attack you can't dodge but you head bk up as soon as he hits.

 

You'll be surprised how many more brews you have for the berserk stage doing things this way.

Also diamond bolts are ftw, for berserk at least if not for entire fight. (yes rubys can do more damage, but they also damage you costing brews)

I use the pillar to the right, and I've easily mastered avoiding the small bombs (other then running into one here and there), the 750 hit, and the 3 clones. But yeah, I can't avoid the -10lp hit. He seems to hit me the most while its just the general fight, and while hes in the berserker mode.. and even then I pray mage the whole time, then melee when he goes into berserk mode. :S

 

I know most people range, but I've seen people with my stats melee him, and they seem to do pretty well.. Should I give it a try or try and stick to ranging him?

Also, stay behind the pillar when he goes into the mirror mode where there are 4 nomads attacking you.

Range is much easier, ive never tried to melee him, but i can only see you getting hit MORE, so running out of brews would be compounded.

I noticed that EVERY time he needed to heal, he went behind the pillar.. Should I be doing that and why does it help? :o

 

Btw - if I ranged again, should I bring some diamond (e) bolts for the berserker mode or stick with another brew?

Not really because brews heal less per click.

If you time it wrong then you could skip your attack for that round and do less damage to nomad. And you need to clikc 4 times to heal the same amount as a rock tail - 3 brew then a super rest.

 

Rocktail only need to click once so less of a chance of missing your attack for that turn.

The problem i see with that is that hes cutting i VERY close on coming back out from behind the pillar when nomad says face me.

Go for melee. Use any sort of weapon; although Nomad is supposedly weak to stab a godsword works fine. A decent BGS spec works wonders. Use void melee + d boots + fury + fire cape + (bgs OR whip + defender OR dfs + defender.)

Your items appear in a grave at soul wars, so no.

 

You'll loose any pots/bolts/familiars you used and you'll obviously loose the things that disappear like the accumulator.

you'll also lose anything thats stored in your familiar as well. so don't store things like scrolls if u don't want to lose them.

I kept the brew. Since you have space issues, brew.

if you are simply running out of brews than try using regular restore pots. They allow a 4:1 brew to restore ratio which obviously allows more healing. Bring about 2 prayer pots and you should be set.

normal restores only restore combat stats and you get more points back in each skill than a super restore.

Coming from somebody whose only 90+ combat stat is Magic. :roll:

 

I have to disagree. I beat Nomad a few weeks ago on my second try, using melee. I tried ranged the first time, and even with 99 ranged I still didn't even manage to get him down to the point where he heals. I used a whip my next time and it was much easier. Use accurate style, wear dhides, and go after him. If you are having trouble with the "beserk stage" at the end, all I can really recommend is training defence. I didn't use more than 2 doses of brew at that stage due to his attacks being so inaccurate, and I'm only 94 defence. Your other option would be to use the "hit and run" strategy that Tip It's guide mentions. Good luck!

Yeah because I don't have all combat 99s I obviously have no ability to read through peoples experiences and guides. And OBVIOUSLY its impossible that in trying nomad I noticed rnage was much easier than melee and my melee stats are higher than range so clearly rnage is easy.

Paw claw is wrong. I'm 99 attack, defense, hp and 97 strength. I recently meleed nomad in karils. If you get low on brews, you can just hide near the pillars and log. Meleeing him was simple. 10 or so brews left, I used a kyatt when tort was done.
