Earth
im think more permanent.. sorta like a small magic balistae? one that can have certain affects on things? if not, i can go with the standard " shoot you with an arrow" type of turrent or a steam turrent.. Jehosaphat
With Theros's magic system also may come another advantage.... Magically Imbued Traps of DEATH. That is, some type of magical trigger besides a living caster. As though having an Indiana Jones boulder raining down on your head wasn't bad enough... imagine one that spits PURPLE FLAMING FIREBALLS OF DOOM. Of course, it'd take a long time to be able to do something like that, but...
Grim_
I like where you are going with this. Hell with certain poisons you could make a saving throw against addiction. Also is there going to be some sort of learned skill for crafting highly intricate spells ie binding spells and banishment, Finally how closely are you going to stick to the original dungeoneering system? EDIT: By the way are my eyes still melted out in game?
Earth
try poisonous or flaming spikes/walls that jump out, and make the boulder hollow so they end up geting set on fire, rolled around, then killed. Iconic
Because no one would actually take drugs in this game if they had a negative effect I would probably give the drugs bonus's like alcohol making you stronger or other drugs making time appear to slow down.Yes your eyes are still burnt out but you have an extra eye. What do you mean by original D'neering system? Pie, you could read a book while charging a spell and make a trip wire by attacgig string to your toe, when they pass you unleash flaming purple fireballs [Falador tavern]
Jehosaphat
I meant it as more of a "Theros is out adventuring, and don't try to break into his house or death by magical traps will befall you" sort of thing. Edit: One more thing about Theros's magic system. He typically uses the environment around him to charge spells, e.g. drains heat around him to charge fire spells, drains a water source to charge water spells, etc. So if he becomes an accomplished blood mage, things could get very ugly, very rapidly, as he'd need a whole host of people/creatures to charge his spells from. Also, spells drained from something of magical origin should typically become more powerful.
Earth
its basically the same thing, cept you can make it more permanen. my sentries wont have much of a chance to backfire if they actually work out when they first get made, scince you cant actually set them off if you made them.. i think. Grim_
Another possible solution is geomancy (noone has levels in it yet but from last game that school was godly for non combat applications) to simply seal up your house from thieves. On a semi related note what schools of magic would one need to create wards (well schools of magic or skills) Wards being barriers that range from simply repulsing the intruder to a wall of sentient fire ripped from the abyss. Iconic
It depends how you are warding them off, an accomplished necromancer, enchanter and trap setter could collect skeletons and set a trap to activate it.An enchanter could make guard statues. An accomplished pyromancer and summoner could make sentient fire.A good hydromancer could fill a moat with swirling acid.Someone with an animal language could coax animals to guard him.Mind control and enchantment could make a person scared of a place. Jehosaphat
Or, you could make a big sphere of dirt, put a couple enchantments on it so that it throws fire in varying directions when moved, and then set it up to roll down in front of your entryway if intruders step on a tripwire. Imagine coming home to find that your security system has made you some fresh intruder pancake! Yumm..... intruder pancake...

Earth
maybe. i was thinking of traditional guard posts? tho the skele bots would work well, i have a concept for death knights from a comic i watch.. tho it would be cruel to sue the same methods... Jehosaphat
Hmmm.... oh, the stuff I could use to defend a house for Theros... Hell, the ways I could make a house for Theros. Given his magic system, and that he basically channels energy from his surroundings into an object, then releases it in a weaponized or otherwise useful fashion... MAGIC HOUSE. HELL YES. The peasant quarter will be sent into winter for MONTHS. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAA... Wait, when does the session start?
Iconic
Usually 7-8 but I might not be able to do it tommorow. Earth
NO. not with us in it. or i swear i will apply my wrench to your skull with enough force to send you to the EARTHS CORE. would you actually allow skelebots, edel? Jehosaphat
I was going to fire blindly into it at first anyways. But now that I know it's got Earth and goblins in it.... I'm going to fire blindly into it a LOT. (Just kidding, I was gonna charge up a few spells and go forest-exploring at first.)
Earth
good. and great edel! now to equip them with mining tools and a minibowgun (like a minigun, but with ARROWS.) ill have to tye them to the house tho, i dont want them running rampant.. Ieyfura
Sorry for my standoffishness earlier, I was just kinda thrown off by that section for a bit. I have to agree with the others, you're mod skills are pretty damn good. It makes me wish I had a computer so I can RP the hell out of this xD On yet another note. Skelebots=win. lol. The_Mather1
Hehe, old Norwegian would be my characters native language and I can write it, so I guess I'll be using it more (with translatioms).
