Rhonda
Any advice on inventory and gear? Also, anyway to ensure a best chance of killing Jad? I don't want to spend on buying more Barrows armor or hunt for someone to lend me d claws. The best range gear I have is black d hide and snakeskin boots, crystal bows or rune xbow with broad or diamond (e) bolts, barrows gloves and fury. I've got some overloads, extreme sets, Sara brews and super restores. I've read a few guides about Jad, but I think it's going to come down to finding out the routine on my own. And 700 of that damage was from Jad as well. What I used: Neit, fury, acp, v skirt, snake boots, explorer's 3, barrows gloves, sw cape, crystal bow, rcbow + 100 diamond for Jad (where I died). Let me look for a table I made earlier. EDIT: Here it is:[hide]That depends on your luring skills, I suppose. The stats for some combinations: Armadyl skirt+ bss: +20 range atk, +85 range def, +4 prayerVerac's skirt + unholy book: +1/+84/+9Armadyl skirt +book: +28/+40/+6Verac's skirt + bss: -7/+136/+7Armadyl skirt + dfs: +15/+105/+1Verac's skirt + dfs: -12/+156/+4Assuming magic and melee offense and defense are all but useless. It should be noted that all fight cave monsters have low defense and high offense. It seems that Arma skirt + a good shield is best if you find you have quite enough prayer, such as the 9 prayer pots you had left. A normal spirit shield loses +2 prayer and +7 ranged defence. Karil's instead of Armadyl loses +1 prayer and +3 range atk. Black hide instead of Armadyl loses +2 range defence, +3 range offense and +1 prayer. Hope that answers the question, and good luck again![/hide] Supporter of Zaros | Quest Cape owner since 22 may 2010 | No skills below 99 | Total level 2595 | Completionist Cape owner since 17th June 2013 | Suggestions 99 summoning (18th June 2011, previously untrimmed) | 99 farming (14th July 2011) | 99 prayer (8th September 2011) | 99 constitution (10th September 2011) | 99 dungeoneering (15th November 2011) 99 ranged (28th November 2011) | 99 attack, 99 defence, 99 strength (11th December 2011) | 99 slayer (18th December 2011) | 99 magic (22nd December 2011) | 99 construction (16th March 2012) 99 herblore (22nd March 2012) | 99 firemaking (26th March 2012) | 99 cooking (2nd July 2012) | 99 runecrafting (12th March 2012) | 99 crafting (26th August 2012) | 99 agility (19th November 2012) 99 woodcutting (22nd November 2012) | 99 fletching (31st December 2012) | 99 thieving (3rd January 2013) | 99 hunter (11th January 2013) | 99 mining (21st January 2013) | 99 fishing (21st January 2013) 99 smithing (21st January 2013) | 120 dungeoneering (17th June 2013) | 99 divination (24th November 2013) Tormented demon drops: twenty effigies, nine pairs of claws, two dragon armour slices and one elite clue | Dagannoth king drops: two dragon hatchets, two elite clues, one archer ring and one warrior ring Glacor drops: four pairs of ragefire boots, one pair of steadfast boots, six effigies, two hundred lots of Armadyl shards, three elite clues | Nex split: Torva boots | Kalphite King split: off-hand drygore mace 30/30 Shattered Heart statues completed | 16/16 Court Cases completed | 25/25 Choc Chimp Ices delivered | 500/500 Vyrewatch burned | 584/584 tasks completed | 4000/4000 chompies hunted
Rhonda
I've done 3 attempts and died at the same place. When Ket-Zek and Tok-Xil spawn in the same waves, they like to spawn either together or spaced enough apart that I can't safe spot one without the other attacking. The best I've been able to do is deflect mage and kill the Tok-Xil first, then hide and heal.
Nifflin
I've done 3 attempts and died at the same place. When Ket-Zek and Tok-Xil spawn in the same waves, they like to spawn either together or spaced enough apart that I can't safe spot one without the other attacking. The best I've been able to do is deflect mage and kill the Tok-Xil first, then hide and heal. You often won't be able to safe spot them. In fact, most of the damage, if any, done during the waves will likely be by the Tok-Xil as they have surprisingly accurate ranged attacks and during the second half of the caves you cannot protect from their attacks. Pretty much just tank them and take them out quick, with your 99 range and extreme range pots they should go down in 2-3 hits. An SGS, EE or EEE should be enough to heal the damage they deal without using any brews. Really you shouldn't have a problem with the waves because you can use soul split to heal when needed and carry super prayer potions which should be more then enough to get through the waves. The safe spotting comes later when you cannot protect from both the 180 and 360 so you need to trap the 180 in a place where he can't melee you while you kill the 360. PM me in game anytime It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet. That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying. purekilljoy
There's a really good guide in the AOW in the general guides section which is ofet overlooked. There's a great video there that sums up exactly how to go through the waves. - How and when to safespot etc. And yea, like said before, you can prob do it easily with like 6 brews and the rest either all restores or restores + pray pots. With my stats I get 6 brews, 7 restores and the rest pray pots. I have a laggy connection but i get to Jad every time - where I also die every time. :D So, check out the video how and when to safespot. (if the 90's spawn with the 360's always eagle eye and take out the 90's first, you can even do it while running from 180's but you usually get them out in 2-4 hits, before the otherones get to you.) At your stats, there should be no reason to fear the Tok-xils, unless you're wearing full magic gear.Just wear range tank gear focusing more on range defense, and you should have almost no trouble with the rangers. Rhonda
you can use soul split to heal when needed :wall: Did not think about using soul split. Is it worth taking the Fally 3/4 shield (or wear it instead of Zammy book) for the prayer restores? Something else I noticed is drinking a super restore would bring my range level up to 120 after I'd been potted for a while. Is that a glitch or not? I'm still figuring out the best balance of brews and super restores/super prayer pots, but getting this cape seems more of a pain than it's worth. Quyneax
Don't wear the falador shield (that loses you +10 ranged attack for +2 prayer and a pityful amount of defence), but you can take it to restore some prayer, sure. You may want to use void + deflector + black hide top, then rune crossbow with broads, using diamonds on Jad. muggiwhplar
are you joking >_> you could do it with an inventory of 8 prayer pots and 20 empty spaces and probably get to jad w/o any problems. don't worry about your setup, just master prayer switching before you risk 90 minutes of your free time getting to him. Rhonda
I am making this more difficult than it should be because I haven't found the fire cape to be something I wanted. Boss fighting isn't anything I do cartwheels about. Other than the diary requirement, I don't see a point to having a fire cape even with the better stats. Anyway, I figure if I don't put my best effort into at least trying, I have no concrete reason to complain about not having the elite gloves. Thanks for putting up with my n00b questions. :P
