Quyneax
Erm, altaring will get you a random after half an hour or so (not during altaring, but a minute after you stop). Quyneax
That's not exactly cheap though. ;)Would cooking be about the next best?Altaring is the only thing I've done enough of to be sure, but I commonly get randoms after a large dungeon, or after cannoning a large slayer task etc. Cooking could work I guess. Tempest_Mike
I decided I'll just finish Fally Easy diary considering I've done most of the tasks, the rest won't take too long and it's guarenteed. xD
muggiwhplar
Randoms are mostly based off how much XP you gain... do things which give you massive XP/hour and you'll get randoms more frequently. Cooking, ranging with chins, making summoning pouches, etc. are good for provoking randoms. On the first bonus weekend it was hard to go 5 minutes w/o getting a random when making summoning pouches. schmuall
It's possible to get lamps from the varrock museum by clearing out stuff from the dig-site area. Although (iirc) these give 500 xp each. Aside from that, do some of the people in lumbridge give you lamps for helping them? As for randoms, I always seem to get them on farm runs. give F2P a penny and they want a dime; give P2P a quarter, they want 100,000 dollars, your car, house, boat, social security number, credit card numbers, drivers license, clothes on your back and everything you ever owned or interacted with ever
Downfall
I found that Firemaking in the Grand Exchange always catches random events pretty quickly, especially once you've finished a few inventories. I was kinda avoiding farming though seeing I wanted the lamp to hit 99. xD

parthenorius
Another way to hit 99 when and where you want it, is to cash in penguin points with the lunar NPC contact spell.
