My first Waterfeind task

i have never done one before and i am looking for some info.

 

this is gonna be the last task that i do for a while cause it will let me reach my goal. any who i plan to buy a z spear and sell it back after the task is done.

 

Stats: 87 att/str/def 88 cons 81 range 75 pray

 

so far this is the setup that i plan to have

helm: black mask or dwarven helm?

body/legs: black d hide

ammy: fury

weapon: ZS

gloves RFD barrows

boots: dragon

cape: ardy 3 or skill cape 3 i haven't decided yet

ring: my trusty lumby 4 ring

 

what i need is some improvements and a good inventory. i have taken a look at the guide and i am still not sure ( it did not have inventories from what i could tell)

Your setup is fine except that there's no reason you should even be considering dwarven helm. That's just silly.

 

Bring prayer potions, EE, super att/str, bunyip, swallow whole scrolls, and some food. Make sure you have some space for drops too. I would piety them (which would probably make Ardy Cloak better).

Pretend those Uni scrolls are bunyip scrolls.

 

You use bunyip scrolls to eat the raw fish the waterfiends drop. You need the cooking level to cook the fish, so 80 cooking is almost necessary because waterfiends drop raw sharks. The scrolls are what allows you to stay for a while, you burn through the food you have pretty fast.

 

I also re-pot when I reach 7 levels above my attack level, if I am using supers. With extremes, it's more like 11-13 levels above.

 

Experiment around with the prayer setup, I don't pray there much, so you might need more or fewer prayer potions. I hope you are using the Fairy Ring to get in to the ancient cavern, I highly suggest unlocking that. Summon the first bunyip just before you go inside, at the obelisk near the fairy ring. This gives you a handy inventory spot to put those crimson charms into.

 

If you have extremes, use them obviously. You can also wear a seers ring for more mage defense. But that should give you the basic idea.

 

I definitely recommend getting a full slayer helm. The +10 mage defense that the hexcrest adds makes a noticeable difference on waterfiend tasks.

Dwarven helm gives +6 crush, so I wouldn't call it silly. But yes, Black mask/slayer helm is always the best option while slaying.

 

Your setup looks fine, if you can, try upgrading to karils.

If you can summon one, use a bunyip with Swallow whole scrolls. If you can't use a bunyip, pray range the whole time, if you can use one, praying may not be necessary.

i wasnt sure about the d helm the tip.it guide had it and i wasnt sure why.

 

because i am buying the z spear i dont really wanna spend more money and get karils also since i am just gonan sell it back anyway.

 

i am trying to get a slayer helm. this is my last task for it btw.

 

i do have the fairy ring unlocked ( i did it when i could get to kuradal).

 

also no extremes for me. looks like ill be needing more bunyips and some scrolls.

I'd use piety as well, waterfiends actually have pretty high defence (and zspear is not as strong as whip + defender, so it's pretty slow without). Also I don't bother with the super defence, but if you don't pray it's best I guess.

I'd highly recommend you pray, they have nice drops so most/all of the cost will be covered and it makes the killing a lot less stressful and faster. I piety if I have raw food/food on the ground and prot range if all I have is an ee spec and any cook sharks they've dropped.

i prayed and it took like 8 trips but i got it done

 

and i got me a FSH.
