@Jeff, you're probably right about no raccoons at Monroe, and about the person living in Church, but the Church place has been abandoned since around 2001 based on evidence around the house, and the pretty much the entire town was built in the mid to late 50's, and the only parts of town that recent are the set of houses a couple of miles south.

My past experiences include aparitions (mist figures) in a friends house, spinning chair (Poltergeist?), and a brief evp session. Oh and thanks for the warm welcome!

 

Here's an intresting google earth image of the Church House from April 1st 2001. This supports the fact that people were living there in 2001.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic about my "warm" welcome, but here are a few tips:

I ask for info about the past experiences because I'm a skeptic, and would like to hear details. For example, had you been drinking, are you sure it was a "ghost" and not just a wierd breeze, etc.

 

And lastly, are you sure that's a car? I can't see anything clearly in the pic. The easiest way to find out when people were last in the house would be to break in and find some sort of technology. A TV would be great. Also, if you see any papers, magazines, or official-looking documents, steal them.

Anyways, there IS stuff in the house to indicate the time. The latest thing we could find was a trophy that was stamped 2001, so I'd say that's a pretty good indicator. Also, there was an early VCR. And we don't take anything from these houses.

We just came back from the Church House to finish the pre-investigation. Pics and a vid will be up soon.

I'm really curious. As in I-can't-stand-this-any-longer-kind of curious.

Not as much this time, as we're just wrapping up the initial Church House shoot. Still, stuff will be up soon. We also don't have a full-video walkthrough of the house, as even with lights, most of it was too dark, so all we have is scattered clips.

 

I find that as we do this, I'm more interested in the houses themselves than the potential paranormal side to them.

I saw some strange lights when I went camping in a really remote region but that's it. Anyways, that house/church complex looks fairly unsettling to go into.

Yep. And just wait til' you see the basement. Was hard to see even with 3 flashlights.

 

Vid is uploading now. It was too dark to film in most places, so actual video is kept to a minimum. Most of it is just the pictures I've already posted of the place, plus what we did today (the basement, a few new pics in the kitchen, and the clips at the start).

I am starting to believe my house is haunted. My Mom's things on the cupboard fell over two times, despite the fact they were securely fastened atop it. One night I was in my room, the door completely shut as it had been for the past couple hours, and it opened. Nobody around. My mom says she hears someone behind her, thinks it is me, then sees no one there. She also says one time I was in her room and she started answering a question I asked, but not staring at me but a dark figure beside me. When she blinked it was gone though.

 

I don't care if the house is haunted. I like that he/she just appears out of nowhere to freak out my mom, though the door thing was pretty weird.

 

I have been to so many haunted places and still have not had an encounter with a ghost. From Savannah to St. Augustine, two of the most haunted places in the U.S, still nothing. Hopefully someday I'll get something. I mean, I have pictures of orbs, but orbs are B.S, either bugs or dust in the air.

Very intresting! Definatley have a camera or a tape recorder around you. Also don't be so quick to dismiss orbs. Most of the time they are bugs or dust but take a good look at the pictures you may see something you haven't before...

i once had that my tv remote would switch to random channels

 

the tv+remote were like 40 years old, so i dismissed it as a hardware malfunction :P

I have no idea why the video keeps stopping, but if you leave it open in another tab and paused for a while, it should run ok when you come back to it.

Well it's not just for the ghosts. The suspense that something is going to happen to you and the mystery of the house is better than going into a friend's house. And Evp's provide some of the best evidence for ghosts out there besides infared sightings.
