Effigies

So I got my first effigy on a blue dragon task. What's the point of them if I don't have the necessary levels to get xp from them? I see people requesting assistance for them but what's the point of that? I did it and they got all the xp, I got none. So why shouldn't I save them until, someday, I have the required levels to use them?

I think if you have someone complete the effigy for you, you get a lamp, which gives lots of experience. But I haven't actually gotten one.

Yeah, you get the lamp at the end, which gives you a very decent chunk of exp depending on what level you are in the skill you use it on.

Yep. They're pretty much major xp in a box :-) If you cannot do any of the skills/lvls it requires (91, 93, 95 and lastly 97), I'd suggest either get someone to assist you in these skills, or save until you can do them yourself. You can turn it in to Varrock museum for a 5K xp lamp, but I do NOT recommend this. After all the effigy stages it turns into a dragonkin lamp which works like a normal skill lamp, but gives even more xp. I'm not sure on the formula, but at 89 prayer I get around 35K xp per lamp! :thumbsup:

Yup as covered:

Xp steps up at each lvl.

The 4 lvls of effigy and then the final level is an xp lamp.

 

Worth getting them opened by other to get that lamp.

They're worth doing, especially when you only have one to do. When I had a dozen or so they just seemed to daunting to get all the assist for (Hell, I didn't know which ones needed what) so I just turned them in to lvl some skills that were close but not worth spending a dragonkin lamp on.

Once you've gone through all 4 stages, you'll get an XP lamp.

 

The XP you get is determined using this equation: level^3divided by 20.2

 

In other words...

 

level x level x level divided by 20.2

So at lower levels it would be wiser to turn it in to the museum, as it's a static 5k exp?

Ypu and obvious that formula is epic xp amounts

 

eg lvl 50 works out to 50^3 = 125,000

125k/20.2 = 6188xp

 

Bearing in mind 50 - 51 is only like 10k xp, you see the epicness.

In the 90s it even gets up to the 40k and 50k xp marks

Epic =D But its not worth using it on a skills thats about 40 or lower i see?

In theory its good and epic to use on any stat at any level, since the xp is proportion to the level. However to utilise them best you should be using them on higher level skills and more expensive skills.

But yes any stat UNDER level 47 would earn less than 5k xp from the lamp so the trade in is better. (46 = 4818, 47 = 5139)

And you need a spreadsheet to calc that...really useful. We all know that it's not the exact formula, but in 99% of cases, it's the better formula to use as the simplified formula is a very close to the exact value as well as scaling consistently.

Here is the level chart (experience you gain at each level). I can't release my hiscore input sheet due to the fact people will edit it to hell and Google Docs doesn't implement cell-locking, but I enjoy using it. :P

Being crew and all and knowing a piece of info on the website is wrong is it not you're duty to y'know change it?
