Earth. It takes one arm to carry, doesn't encumber you more than an AP rifle, is a close-to-the-arm sleeve, and the wires reel back quickly enough that there aren't really good opportunities to get a shot in. It's like an electrified, super-strong, recoiless shotgun that uses retractable shots. Why do you keep saying that it's weak? It isn't, I thought of all the problems you pointed out and I corrected them.

Ross, that was only the prototype, further research will have decreased the price even more and Archi said copies will be much cheaper. And the first modification I made was a hydraulics system to void any kickback.

 

And Earthsage, you are thinking of the first version. The one that could kill 300 people in one barrage. This one is much, much smaller as it was originally intended to be.

Hi,

 

Due to a certain amount of underpreparedness by me, a certain amount of having a channel open for over an hour before we started and a certain amount of more people than I was expecting...That/this session has kinda gone awry.

 

However, it did not go too badly...though I was disappointed =(

 

 

In the news:

Jen has been carted off to stand trial for mining without a permit.

The AI randomly went offline for 20 minutes, during which time Jen managed to crash the Kirby into the Unity, destroying the Science bay and the Kirby's Ion Cannon and Mining Laser Array.

150,000 Credits were withdrawn from the Ship's fund to pay for 130kT to repair the Kirby. While conducting the repairs Theros renamed the Kirby the Saber and brought under the Unity's Command Structure.

 

The Swiss Habitation fleet reached Planitia unmolested and the UN is collapsing as countries being opposing it over everything.

I was talking about it Archi, you seemed to acknowledge the fact and let me build it at the level 17 price. I haven't talked about Crystalline since then, and only one person on Descar was told about it in the past, and then only about the level one capabilities. It seemed fair...

 

Also, everyone will be working on making an edge-of-system asteroid into a shipyard between sessions from now on. By next thursday, we will be able to make our own ships.

Well it's rather swell that you repair the Kirby and took it over, when I built more than two million energy credits worth of it and your investment seems to have completely purchased it...

None taken. There's also like 5kT of random damages that crash caused to the Unity, but they're not major, so I left them for when we have more resources..

 

And Tech, the "taking it over" bit was mostly so that I wouldn't get my ass chewed off for repairing it with the ship's cash.

Could cause problems. But, May i have command of the kirby for mining missions? It would be good to have the captain of that floating ill-fated deathtrap good at repairing it.

Jeremiah, I seek reinstatement as commander of the Kirby, since I put all that work into it while the rest of you did basically nothing on it. You said that you would protect the Kirby for me while I was gone, and I only performed that manuever to hide the Kirby. I fufilled my end of the bargain by surrendering peacefully and not screwing up game mechanics by fleeing or whatever, so keep your end of the bargain. (Bar Jeremiah who equipped it with some weapons and Earth, who did a LOT of repairs).

 

It still doesn't overlook the fact that even with all this damage, the Kirby has still turned a profit.

I actually support Earth in that, to be honest he's better than any of us when it comes to maintaining a working vessel. I think the Saber should have a separate command as a separate ship, with Theros as primary officer and Earth as subordinate. They're the most practical, and could do great things with the power they don't reach for themselves.

 

Jen, you shouldn't have a ship. Period. That's as bad of an idea as giving Chi AI control protocols. We're all in this together, all you did was mine for yourself. Theros donates everything to the combined ship funds, he'll make much better use of it.

Well, i can accept that. And the recources would be nice to actually have on hand when the next set of explosions go off.

Nex, it was my ship. Period. If anyone is talking about things like this, it should be Earth or Jeremiah, not you.

 

 

It is true that Theros is selfless and all that stuff, but I was still the one who built the ship. I should have the say on what happens to it. I would rather have it destroyed than having it benefit you.
