And don't you dare give it a sanity protocoll, I believe it is that which has caused all our special AIs to go rogue. The only AI that hasn't gone rogue is SI, which is clearly insane.

A. I asked the SI about programming an AI. It took at least a session to make a basic one, and several more to make it a more advanced one. B. Who the hell are the kitsune? C. All I'm doing is making sure it doesn't go kaput again.

Which brings up the question, do you even know what you're doing? It failed not because of software or component failure, it broke and when I took it to be fixed by the nanites it simply failed to wake up.

 

How come SI sugguests solutions that can only be compared to what GLaDOS would do, then?

 

Wait, that might be the solution to our lack of research, if we make an AI similiar to GLaDOS and let her rule a simulation with an unlimited suply of subjects.

MAther, you didn't run a systems check. When I ran it, the files on the core were corrupted. Badly. So, I fixed them, and upgraded your AI core so it won't be [bleep]ed up again.. Unless you do something to it.

EDIT: Okay then, but with our advancements in AI tech it's been reduced.. And it still takes a while. Kitsune are what? And also, if it's a scrap ehap, then why the hell should we keep it around?

Earth, I did, twice.

It should be kept because it can make a difference for the better, if you really want to throw something away, try the scraps that are apparently lying all over the ship, it took me one action to find all the parts needed to make it.

You ran a check on the components when it was offline. system checks require it to be online. See the problem?

Testing components while they're onlline only fries the Ohmeter, which is the aproporiate tool to use when searching for something wrong with electrical components.

You are getting through them...You, along with the others, have examined 9,840 people and have 'healed' around 4,300 people in the last two months. Each bay has 3,000 ish people, though not everyone is injured, obviously.

There have been 78 deaths and 23 births over the two month period. Of the deaths 23 have been starvation, 30 have been natural/seemingly natural, 5 have been seemingly accidental and 20 have died from wounds or in combat.

There may be some inaccuracy due the unscientific nature of things.

As an observation you count approximately:

Children: 32% Male, 68% Female

Teenagers: 40% Male, 60% Female

Adults: 44% Male, 56% Female

Elderly: 65% Male, 35% Female

 

TBing is an advantage, and a crutch. If SI says nothing will go wrong if we TB, I guarantee that something horrible will happen because of them. It's not his way to miss an opportunity, at best we will get kicked in a roundabout fashion.

TB does what it says on the tin.

However, TBing to correct errors isn't sustainable if you are causing more errors afterwards.

More like voice activated computer with physical manipulators and a natural language database.

Though with Earth's upgrades it is a basic AI, and so will grow on its own.

 

AIs and insanity

There is one AI, created in game, besides the SI, which isn't insane.

Radio Broadcasts have been detected from the central region of the station. It mostly plays music and for people to support the Freedom Gang and go back to the good old days, as well as offering chocolate, canabis, coffee, opium for those who join the 'Freedom Fighters', a kind of gang-police force.

The posters got thirty seconds by most people, some spent up to 15 minutes in one sitting and up to 5 hours over the course of a few visits.

TB just means that if you have already caused it to screw up you can unscrew it up.

You can undo the damage you have caused.

Ok...here is how it will work:

You create the AIs

You spend 5 sessions with them

You can then choose to TB a personality for them.

I decide how close the new personality is to the old one.

If it is similar then you reprogram it, if it is dissimilar then you wipe days off its development.

Close-ish would be 1 day, further out is 2 days...and so on, to a totally different personality costing 5 days.

I find the technocrats to sound interresting, if they are willing then their name sugguests they might be useful to the ship. If their gang follows the principles of technocracy, then it is likely that they have more highly educated people than any other gang.

Today is Wednesday. We generally dont have sessions on wednesdays, as they are normally thursday due to the fact that thursday is the scheduled day

And we really need to get rid of these bloody gangs. They're the only thing standing in the way at this point.

That's why I didn't say we should command them to report to the bridge.

 

May I meet with them? If I bring the robot it might wake their interrests enough to open up to me, and since it is made of scrap it would seem like something one could actually make with next to no access to anything, which it is.

Best case scenario; they are friendly and usefull.

Worst case scenario; I am killed, the robot is stolen and they will have to go the same way as any other hostile gang. None of which matters much assuming Earth makes a backup of his AI upgrade.
