Chi:

1)I think that Jeremiah would not support your attempt to lock everyone except him out of your chambers through commands, as it seems slightly suspicious, and besides there are many ways to manipulate such a rule to make it ineffective and/or highly dangerous to those who are in the room.

2) that plot wont exactly work as well as you think it would as I can think of several ways to still bypass those precautions

3) so you are talking about an almost standard issue AI core with a switch instead of a plug

1) Lee must also have access, in case I suddenly black out/get shocked/OD on a random nutrient. And entrance limitation can't harm those who may enter.

2) You can cut the power to most of the ship, that way you'd limit the time I have left before my room shuts down, but what good would that be? The only actuall ways to stop the flow of electricity without breaking something would be inside the room.

3) And lost of buttons and inlets.

1) I was more saying that there are ways others can make use of the rules to completely bypass the intent of them (in roughly 10 seconds I thought of 6 ways, 3 of which render the rule useless with some thinking), and that due to several minor quirks the proposed rule is utterly useless against me.

2) The concept is that unless you redirected the main transmission cable from the electrical system directly into your quarters before everything else (have fun with your accoustics) that your power feed would be on a seperate line from the rest of the ship at some point, and even if it was, there are many ways to mess with your connection without cutting your power that could be isolated to your quarters only and which do not allow for your backup power to prevent the issues.

3) So you are trying to make a special edition "why on earth did we allow the AI to take creative liberties with our reprogramming efforts! *screams*" AI Core.

1) You can't get in, no matter what, you just end up in the kitchen when you try, no matter where in the room you try to transport to.

2) There's one wire, straight from the main conduit, going into my room, switches for that wire and it branches are also in my room as well as a backup battery. To cut the power you have to turn off the power, killing yourself before me or cut the wire, risking a shock.

3) No, I'm making a "That was a bad idea./We will need this." and "Hmm, we should add this when we get back." AI core. The inlets allow me to make protocols anywhere and save them on external memory units then upload them when I get the chance.

1) I will be nice and give you the most obvious of the three complete bypasses : "SI, redefine Chi's quarters as being located in the kitchen" or "SI, redefine the kitchen as being Chi's quarters. define the current kitchen as the billards room" or "define the location of Chi's quarters being a 50 meter cube directly in front of the bow of the ship, instead of their current location", etc

2) there are methods to disable only your power without injuring anyone

Edit: 1) additionally all of my methods manipulate the technicalities of the rule, not teleporting to some specific location to bypass it

1) The thing is I or Jeremiah to ask for the relocation. Alternatively I can just set a requirement for a confirmation from within the room to relocate.

2) Yes, cutting the wire whilst properly insulated. If I were to program the wiring it'd be one thing, but when it is wired the only ways to disconnect something is to stop the powersource or sever the connection.

The SI keeps internal (self defined) definations to keep confusion and death at a minimum.

If I was trying to defend my room, and human, I would do this:

SI, fabricate me a wall mounted Local Power Control Junction (LPC), designed to hold a Batrium Cell and be connected to the mains, with manual access only. The LPC is card (Retinal/whatever) activated. In the event of a power failure the LPC switches to the Batrium Cell, maintaining power. When not in use the Cell recharges through the mains. Also add a breaker to the LPC to prevent power surges.

*Installs the LPC*

SI, fabricate me 10 kT of Batrium in 10 power cells and a shield generator and Anti-Psionic device. Both must be non-wireless and compatible with the LPC, and cover the whole room.

*Installs shield generator and Anti-Psionic Device, and inserts one of the cells into the LPC*

SI, fabricate me two Magnifying Transmitters, compatiable with the LPC and not wireless, placed either side of the door. Also fabricate a sprinker above the door with a water canister.

*Installs the two Magnifying Transmitters and sprinker*

SI, fabricate me a Faraday cage which is 10% smaller than my room, and transport it inside my room when I deactivate the shield. The cage is set back into the room, away from the door.

*Deactivates the shield for a second.*

SI, fabricate a laser detection system.

*Installs the laser detection system in front of the door.*

*Wires the LPC to activate the Magnifying Transmitters and Sprinkler if the laser beam is broken.*

Then you would need to think of some way of getting past that...I can think of a tonne, but it seems rather pointless in publically stating how to get past the system...

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Updated the Puzzle System...again:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12603519/Space/Puzzles/Puzzles.html

There are 10 puzzle cards, each with different worths.

So rather than solving one puzzle for one research point, now you solve a number of puzzles for a number of points, based on how difficult I consider the puzzles to be.

As ever it is winner takes all, you get nothing for solving 9 out of 10.

If you ask about a specific puzzle then I will, of course, say if you have the right answer or not, however you must have the FULL list of answers to get the points.

This is mostly because I can't seem to remember which puzzles were solved and which were not, resulting in puzzles left unchanged for weeks...which is most unsatisfactory.

Also partly because some people never do any research, so their puzzles sit there for weeks...Which is fine, but somewhat at odds with the other.

There is a 30 minute cool off period after each FULL puzzle card you answer, simply to prevent someone solving all 10 cards beforehand and reading them off when they first log on.

If you want to power level, fine, but other people MUST have a chance.

Similarly, if you are late to sessions you must accept that some puzzles will already be solved when you arrive.

If you are gonna miss a session, but have solved the puzzle beforehand, you may submit your answers before the session BUT you will only get the points if no one solves the puzzle inside the session.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Archi, that seemed more complicated than what I had planned.

SI, fabricate 10 Battrium cells.

SI, fabricate a PLC that opens gate one when there is no power in input one and gate two when there is.

SI, connect the battery to the mains, the PLC to the battery and input one on the PLC to the mains.

SI, connect the battery to the power system of my room through gate one on the PLC.

SI, connect the mains to the power system of my room through gate two on the PLC.

SI, place the components in a wall-mounted box in my room.

SI, if anyone except me, Jeremiah, Lee and BOnSAI attempts to transport into my room, redirect the transport to the kitchen.

SI, if anyone except me and Jeremiah attempts to make changes to this, the previous and/or the next rule, redirect the change to a dummy file.

SI, if anyone attempts to use an overide to transport into my room, immediatly transport them in front of the ship.

SI, connect my door to the my room's power system.

SI, reconstruct my door out of crystalline.

SI, adjust my door's settings, normally locked.

SI, only accept opening of the door less than ten seconds after both retinal and fingerprint scans have been given and confirmed to be from me, Lee or Jeremiah.

SI, automatically close my door after 15 seconds of being open, if there is any obstruction, transport it to the kitchen.

It is longer but way less technical and to me seems easier to understand. Also, no workarounds.

Also, I think you overestimated us with that science puzzle.

Remember that these puzzles are hard for me too. I've been working for 30 minutes and I haven't solved a single one yet.
