MstrMonopoly
I've heard from a bunch of my friends that magic defense is the way to go at solo bandos. In this case, would I want to bring full Karil's instead of my usual setup of Bandos/Verac's? I piety the fool.
gremmy
No, ranged defence is the most important. Magic defence should be prioritized under the attack bonusses from your weapon. (Aka, ranged def and offensive bonusses should be the focus in your gear, magic def having one piece of gear (usually karil's top/black d'hide body)) Dragon drops: 82 (2 claws)Dagannoth kings drops: 73Barrows item count: 51GWD drops: 54 (5 hilts: 1x bandos, 3x saradomin, 1x zamorak)Whips: 4Sigils: 1x spectral (FFA), 1x arcane (FFA)

TheAncient
Graardor's ranged attack's accuracy is calculated based on your magic def. You could try out a high mage-def setup. Dragondan_Ro
Graardor's ranged attack's accuracy is calculated based on your magic def. You could try out a high mage-def setup.Source? RuneScape Wiki. Also, haven't anyone noticed how his ranged attacks splashes? + it makes a lot of sense since when everyone used to get 2 General Graardor kills, maybe even 3 in one trip, I could do only 1 with full melee gear. So yeah, take it from me: Karil's body > melee platebody for sure. Though you should keep a verac's helm or another barrows helmet, legs, not quite certain. Try Karil a bit, then barrow's legs and see if it makes a difference. Give a man a lighter, and he will be warm for a while.Set a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life. gremmy
Anyone can edit wiki, and as you just said it looks like a magic attack, which easily tricks less experienced players to think it's a magic attack. I'd just stick with a high ranged def, and some magic def for the seargant. gremmy
They're not terrible sources, they're unreliable. Yes, the chances that people go and change to something that's wrong are really low, but the fact that it's there makes it unreliable. TheKoolKandy
When I solo bandos I wear: Verac's helmSoul Wars capeFuryKaril's topChaotic longswordDragonfire shieldVerac's skirt (or bandos tasset but I'm reluctant to buy it since verac's skirt is almost better in every bonus and bandos pools are easy to use)Barrows GlovesDragon BootsRing of life (because my internet cuts out unexpectedly quite often) I believe this is one of the best set ups for soloing bandos, minus using divine/elysian spirit shields. Using overloads and turmoil I am able to get 20-30 kills a trip using this set up. green9090
Guys, if Bandos's ranged attack was calculated based on magic defense, the best tank gear would be full Arma and a spectral/divine. Currently people use full Bandos and a DFS/divine. Are we really going to claim that we've used gear that is the exact opposite of ideal for Bandos for the last few years and nobody noticed? I call bull. If you want to go try out tanking with high mage def, be my guess, but I can already predict the results- you're going to get torn up. Also their is a reason why most pro soloers wear karil's top, not bandos chestplate (atleast in most cases). In a team, the tank maximizes ranged defense at the expense of all else, because that's what's going to be hitting them most. Soloers use a Karil top STRICTLY because of the magic minion, which in a solo can do a significant amount of damage as well. In Zamorak teams, the tank wears full arma and spectral because magic is what's hitting them. If Bandos also had a magic-based secondary attack, you can bet you'd see people tanking in Arma and Karil's there too. This is not the case.
