How often you can expect to get effigies while Slaying? How much slay xp per effigy, on average. Just come back after a fair break, wondering if there's any numbers on this floating around?

Cheers blade, that's rather helpful, pretty much tells me what i can expect.

@Z3 - 99 Slay already, overloads + turmoil, cannon where possible, dclaws + steel titan scrolls with summ / recover spec pots when i can be bothered. I like slaying fast, for the most part. :)

in that case, its probably better to cannon cave crawlers, black demons, or black dragons for effigies from an efficiency standpoint.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

Sure, if i didn't also want the extra slayer xp. ;)

EDIT: Slayer is the only option.

adding to what i said earlier i factored in kill rate. here are the minutes:effigy at the following tasks, in increasing order:

Bloodvelds: 93 mins

Black demons: 107 mins

Dagannoths: 110 mins

Black dragons: 122 mins

Steel dragons: 124 mins

Ice strykewyrms: 144 mins

Dark beasts: 147 mins

Aberrant spectres: 152 mins

Iron dragons: 154 mins

Mithril dragons: 156 mins

Gargoyles: 183 mins

TzHaar volcanic creatures: 185 mins

Greater demons: 209 mins

Nechryael: 221 mins

Abyssal demons: 277 mins

Dust devils: 280 mins

Waterfiends: 291 mins

Blue dragons: 296 mins

Suqahs: 298 mins

Desert strykewyrms: 310 mins

Jungle strykewyrms: 314 mins

Fire giants: 342 mins

Living rock creatures: 442 mins

Skeletal wyverns: 449 mins

Click the guide in my sig,

100k slayer XP is average with the recommended list of 10-12 tasks.

2-2.5hrs per effigy.

w/ or w/o cannon?

w/ or w/o cannon?

I think it's pretty clear from the rates that what can be cannoned, is cannoned.

with cannon, of course. i'm not going to bother doing that kind of math for someone who isn't going to bother with a cannon. those rates will apply to people who are serious about slaying, and will be for my own use as well. if you are going to waste your time, don't expect others to waste their time for you.

but yeah, to maximize effigies, perm block 5 of the lower monsters on that list. warped torts, spirit mages, and kalphites are a good start - all 3 have horrendous drop rates/do not drop them. another good choice would be LRC since they take a very long time to finish as well as a horrible drop rate. the 5th one is basically preference, something like desert/jungle wyrms if you don't care about elites, or maybe fire giants.

next, know that every 50 tasks you complete, you gain 1440 points, which is 48 skips. that means that you can skip roughly half your tasks. use this to your advantage. skip tasks which take a long time and have bad effigy rates.

Well it's not really that bad- if you want accurate rates you have to time your tasks and do the math anyway, and the way you do certain tasks plays a big role in the rates. Overloading makes quite a nice difference for cannoning, while killing dark beasts at kurdals or black demons at resource dungeon slows some of those rates down. I think it's widely accepted to write down your slayer xp rates(and thus kill-rates) in your notes.

after 200m slayer yeah

aribiterspar3.png

Well there is another way of slaying crawlers for effigies and using them on slayer which is good for around 50k slayer xp an hour. Normal slaying assuming 1 effigie per two hours is around 35k normal xp(counting banking and all of that, can be as high as 45k)+ 25k from effigies for a total of ~60k slayer xp an hour, however you get more other skill xp when killing crawlers.
