Chaotic Staff/C-bow/Sheild or Farseer next?

Idk what one I should buy next.. already got maul rapier stream and longsword and a few other small things..

 

 

I do lots of minigaming (using melee for the majority of the time), and I kinda want to get into bosshunting a bit more.. all I'm doing now is bandos/corp.

 

If it matters -

 

99 Strength

99 Attack

92 Defense

87 Magic

80 Ranged

oh yeah armadyl. ccbow won't make a significant difference against prime since cannon does most the work.

eh, I don't like cannon there, so it helps me.

He needs to work on his range and mage before seriously considering Pvping with either weapon.

He doesn't really need either right now tbh :unsure:

without cannon at dks, you are right c cbow would be an absolutely huge improvement.

 

and i agree with sirizenhime, instead of spending 20 hours for another chaotic you would get way more utility either making money and chinning for a higher ranged level or making money and burst/barraging for higher magic and summoning levels.

Well right now I'm just going for 99 dung, and spending the tokens on chaotics..

 

I'll most likely do some range/mage training after I finish off dung though.

If you're bandosing, you could get chaotic kite.

spectral might be better than cks for bandos since his ranged attack's accuracy is based on your magic defense, not your ranged defense. citation: rswiki

highly disagree. ccbow > staff for (safe) pvp and most pvm.

 

staff is BAD for rex because of lack of rune-saving ability, additional risk (you always risk it), higher degrade cost.

I'm not going to get the staff, because SOL just seems better to use for right now anyways.

if you can't afford a BSS you shouldn't even consider using chaotic weaponry.

1 chaotic weapon for ~10 hrs = 2M you DON't get back

1 BSS for forever = 3M you can always get back

anyway get the crossbow. FKS/CKS are impractical for pvm cause theyre easily lost and have high degrade cost

 

crossbow is a lot more accurate than its rune counterpart. at best, it's up to 33% more accurate (realistically a bit less though)

I can assure you this is false. Citation: go tank Bandos in full arma and a spectral and see how well you do tanking his ranged attacks.

 

I was just there in a team tonight with void and took some good knocks while I was soul splitting, and void has pretty excellent magic defense. I was certainly taking a lot more damage from the ranged attacks than our full Bandos tank, who by your logic should have been getting ripped apart.

 

On topic, I say crossbow. Nothing else is a significant improvement over existing gear- the staff is stupid expensive to use, and the shields are wannabe DFS and spirit shields.

I can't believe we're still having this conversation this many years after GWD was released. I could see it if the boss was a few weeks old, but we've known for a LONG time now that ranged defense is what matters at Bandos.

In my opinion, the shields are crap... and they cost to recharge (obviously). However, you should wait until they release the new soaking update.

 

Crossbow or staff - I really don't know where you'd use staff. There's only a 5% damage difference between SoL and CS. Furthermore, SoL saves runes, especially if wearing battle robes. If at dagannoth rex, for example, you wouldn't save runes, the recharging would cost and it'd be a higher risk. :thumbdown:

 

If you choose the crossbow, you could use it against dagannoth prime, at Armadyl, at tormented demons, etc. :thumbup:
