December 10, 201015 yr Hi guys, I've heard and read a lot of different money-making strategies for F2P players, but most of them are kinda slow or outdated (based on much higher GE prices of certain items).[Example: Lobster-fishing: I expect to sell my uncooked lobsters for minimum price which is 204gp. I can fit 26 lobster in one inventory and need about 8 minutes per trip. This makes like 40-50k in an hour]So the title says it all: What is in you opinion the best F2P monkey-making strategy at the moment?I have fairly high levels, most of them 60+!
December 10, 201015 yr i don't know exact rates, but i heard the best money maker in f2p is muddy chest opening.you buy a lot of mudy keys and open the chest in high level wild to obtain pizzas, tunes and uncut rubys, i'm not sure, but i heard estimates of 300k-400k per hour
December 10, 201015 yr I'm sure there are merchanting opportunities in F2P if you know what you're doing. That's always the biggest money-maker. RIP TET "That which does not kill us makes us stronger." - Friedrich Nietzsche
December 10, 201015 yr Author Yeah, I heard abouth this merching thingy. Dont really know how and where to start though. I do not have a good overview of the market.
December 10, 201015 yr Yeah, I heard abouth this merching thingy. Dont really know how and where to start though. I do not have a good overview of the market. There are a few types, but the thing you would probably be looking at is flipping. That is, buying a stable or rising item, then selling ASAP (bear in mind the 4 hour limit). An example of this for members is sharks. You generally want highly traded stuff, mainly raw materials. You could perhaps have a look at raw fish (tuna/lobbies I guess) and maybe logs. Buy 10 of the item first and then see if it sells, I think. Not entirely sure, haven't merched in a while. Good luck! December 10, 201015 yr Wow, I never knew muddy chest was F2P... is this new or have I been wrong all this time? I recently did some tests for a friends and got these;Level 2 giant spiders - between Lumby and DraynorDrops worth taking: Earth talismanGp/h = 50kNotes: No need to wear armour if you're over 50 combat. Just a Rune scim, power / str ammy, and maybe some other cosmetic gear. Level 13 elemental wizards - near Rimington mineDrops worth taking: Fire rune, water rune, air rune, earth rune, fire talisman, water talisman, air talisman, earth talismanGp/h = 75kNotes: They attack with magic so metal armour is not advised. Wearing d'hide would be best, though I wore RC robes and never got under 750/870 LP. This also gives ~25k combat exp/h Some other good methods are cutting oaks just outside Varrock east or west gates, mining iron ore / ess / copper, or killing hill giants. As for flipping, it all depends on how much GP you have to work with. I often flip yew logs. At 25,000/4hours limit, you can put something like 13M into them every 4 hours. What I usually do is:If they're falling - buy 11 GP under med price, sell 1 gp under med. (Note - you should sell them before the next GE update to avoid losing potential GP due to a lower med price)If they're stable - buy 5 GP under med, sell 5 GP over med.If they're rising - buy 1 GP over med, sell 11 GP over med. (Note - if you think they will continue to rise, then you can hold onto them)With this, you can see that you can make 250k/4h. Though if you only have 13M you will have to alternate buying and selling 4h limits so the profit will be 250k/8h. Also note that these are general guidelines and are a very 'dumbed down' version of my methods so they may not provide guarenteed profit margins, but it's a good guide to get you started.
December 10, 201015 yr Killing the wizards south of Varrock is also a decent bit of cash (picking up valuable runes + all talismans). Last time I checked it was a few hundred k an hour. Retired Crew Member | Retired RuneScape Player
December 10, 201015 yr Killing roach solders is pretty good something like 90-150k an hour. Depends on drops.
December 11, 201015 yr Have no idea on rates, but i found FoG a fun way to earn a little while not being extremely boring. At around 90cb you should win almost every game and then you have to look for the best thing to buy gp/token wise.
December 11, 201015 yr Rcing waters/earths are ~200k/hr, according to prices atm. Rune mining should be around ~400k. Playing Great orb project and buying talismans should be ~300k or so? Around that figure. Killing undead mages in the Lumbridge Catacombs (picking up stackables & talismans only) should be around ~150k. December 11, 201015 yr I'm sure there are merchanting opportunities in F2P if you know what you're doing. That's always the biggest money-maker. ^ Do this only if you have over 80m to work with. Otherwise, its only <500k profit a day if you know what you're doing... which from your prior posts I doubt you do. Come to my Clan chat (I'm there if I'm online) if you wish to borrow a Green H'ween mask, Blue H'ween Mask, Red H'ween Mask, or Santa for a reasonable price.
December 11, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the tips guys.Ring_World, I'd appreciate that. I have 4.5 mil to work with. Can I add you on runescape? Rune mining should be around ~400k. Rune mining? You mean essence mining? My calculations say its like 15-20k/hr.
December 11, 201015 yr Runite Mining - requires level 85 mining. http://www.[Caution! Jagex Rule Violation].com
December 11, 201015 yr Only good f2p money is -Rune rock mining -Muddy Key runs -GoP As people already mentioned But nobody mentioned: -Iron mining @ dwarfen mine (dungeoneering required) (an empty world, good internet connection and, 70+ minng can net you 250k+ gp and 40k+ mining xp/hr 1,000 F2P Total Level Reached 10/8/10 ! December 11, 201015 yr I just ran a test and at 81 fishing, fishing lobsters is 45k/hour (assuming stable price for raw lobs is 200 each). So that could be another good way if you like fishing.
