Armour choices

I'm planning on getting turmoil soonish. Which prayer boosting armour (veracs or proselyte I assume?) will be best for prayer and defence? Basically, what tasks will I need the added defence of veracs for and where can I go for the cheaper option of proselyte?

You want enough prayer bonus to be able to do the task without banking, and otherwise maximise your strength/attack bonus.

No, bandos is not better then both. Bandos, is in fact, a worse chose, the either of the said options. Plus is expensive and the average slayer doesn't have it. Stop being ignorant.

 

OT:

 

The general accepted setup is V skirt and prossy plate. With a soulwars cape, if you have it. If the extra prayer is overkill, just use a fire cape.

 

That will bring your defense bonus well over 200. Which is plenty for slaying. If you're taking too much damage at that defense bonus, you should be praying on the task.

 

And remember, soulsplit is your food.

something around 800k/h. anyway it was less than 1m/h back when ppot (3) were 7k each, so it's even less now.

 

bandos is the best armor if you can carry enough ppots to finish a task without banking. which should be every task if you are turmoiling (instead of piety) and have access to tortoise (for dark beasts).

+4 strength saves about 1 min/hr.

 

Assuming level 96 prayer and 9 prayer bonus (bandos, fury, fire cape), using normal prayer potions and turmoil, you need 45 doses of ppot per hour.

 

With 19 prayer bonus, 36 doses (bandos, fury, sw cape). Meaning that you need to make 9 doses of ppot in the time you save, at 1500 gp per dose, or ~13.5k per 1 minute made, or 810k/hr.

 

Now with proselyte, v skirt, fury and sw cape, you have 29 prayer bonus, you'd need 30 doses, so you need to be able to make 15 doses in the time you save. You lose 10 str, so if you can make 15 doses in 2.5 mins (9k/min or about 540k/hr) you're better off with bandos + fire cape.
