Is augury's 20% magic 25% defense boost better for magic defense than, for example, rigour (25% defense boost no boost to magic)

By your description, they both boost 25% defence.

 

But augury also boosts 20% magic. So that should give more mage defence boost.

As magic defense is part of your magic level, and the prayers boost your magic level, then by that logic i believe so.

jagex states that augury boosts magical attack, yet none of the other mage prayers have that specification. So under normal logic i'd assume augury is different, but again, this is jagex, and that kb article might be maintained by seven different employees who don't consult each other, so we can't, not to mention augury was released much later than the other prayers etc. so really, we need some testing of some kind

70% of your magic defence is determined by your magic level, 30 of your defence. So probably, yeah.

It says magic accuracy in game, not sure about that.

Mysitc prayers, sap and maybe leech magic does show a +X% under stat adjustments, not sure does augury does the same.

It would make more sense if augury did boost magic defence. However leech magic + leech defence is probably still superior (I sure hope so, I hate using prayers).
