Overloads vs extremes

I'm considering getting 91 herblore so I can make overloads, but I was wondering if it would be worth doing before getting 95 prayer or if I should let it wait. I currently have 87 herblore and decently sized stockpiles of all extreme potions. So should I sink in 40M for overloads, or just keep going with extremes? If it's relevant, the only boss hunting I regularly do is TDs.

I think the improvement of Overloads vs extremes isn't a big enough deal to give up Turmoil for it. I would say go for turmoil, and then save for overloads. Plus, a +5 stew boost is kinda rare...

But then again, it really all depends on what activities you do the most aside from TDs.

For slayer, turmoil. For tds, I'd get a unicorn and overloads (because soul split isn't going to heal you very much at tds, and overloads will allow you to brew).

If you get hit enough to need a unicorn and brews at tds, you're doing something wrong.

Yes, I know. I guess that should be 'or'. But I'd really get both, as ovl is a boost over extremes (like turmoil), and normal prayers have eagle eye + piety, which is nicer than turmoiling all the time if you don't have steel titan (imo). Ranging is so slow.

Turmoil should come before overloads.

This.

Overloads are primarily a monsterhunting tool, but at TD's, extremes are just as good with unicorn.

If you're concerned with the ranging speed, use a hand cannon with void - that'll change your mind.

You should get overloads in the future no matter what, but turmoil is more important.

I say go for 91 Herblore.

Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous.

Thanks for the responses everyone. One last related question: what exactly are the benefits of overloads compared to extremes? Is it just that they save space, or do people swear by them because you can brew and your stats will pop back up almost instantly? Because considering how they drop you 500 lp, only last 5 minutes a dose, and result in consumption of a lot of unneeded potions, I'm not quite sure why they seem to be so popular.

Seeing as brews are the item that heals the most for one inventory spot, the overload effect is highly sought, because you can last hours more then just rocktails. The 5 minutes is actually quite a lot, because there's 4 doses - 3 overload = 1 hour of maxed stats fighting. No matter if you spend extra on unnecessesary potions, the brew effect makes it worth it.
