Maxing construction

heist

Recommended Posts

I have decided to take on one of the rarest skillcapes, Construction. The thing is, I'm not too wealthy (I am willing to spend the money needed though, no problems gathering it). So what would be the most efficient yet not too expensive of a method to get the skill to 99? My level at the moment is 68. Is it oak dungeon doors? Should I use SC hammers and how would I do without them? Any answers and tips are appreciated!

SC Hammers are worth it, especially if you don't mind stealing creation too much. Saves a tonne of money. Oak dungeon doors are the way to go for a while, up to 80 at least.

Here are the strategies:

Low money: Oak doors. Nice and quick.

Low money: Flatpack teak wardrobes. A little less xp/h than doors but slightly afkable.

High money: Mahogany tables. This is the fastest reasonable way to 99 construction.

Personally I recommend a mixture of both low money strategies.

You must construct additional oak larders doors... I mean pylons

Barrows: 10. Total value~22.3 mil. Ahrim Robeskirt is currently the item I have received the most.

Best way to go is Oak Larders til 69 then Teak Wardrobes till 99. About 70m without using SC hammers. Don't waste your time with SC Hammers. They are NOT worth it unless you plan on using Mahogany.

Also, using SC hammers is actually slower than just doing Teak Wardrobes.

i really cant see Oak Doors going for more than 190k exp/h (unless you manage to never missclick or never misstime a click). And with teak doors i dont see you going over about 225k exp/h

You can consider limestone... it is slower but cheaper; it depends on how much you value your time, really.

How long would that approximately take and what's the cost? Sounds interesting but if it does take too long I really can't be arsed :D

Thanks for the ideas everyone, I'm thinking of the oak doors at the moment but the cost might be a problem (I only have whereabouts 1M cash at the moment and 2-3M as herbs, will accept suggestions on how to efficiently make money, currently my methods are Sorceress' Garden and tablets).

4m wont get you far. You'er going to need at least 70m for 99 Construction.

Best money maker would be DK's > GWD > TD's. Frosts if you can otherwise Slayer. Slayer isnt the best money maker but with decent tasks and average luck i pull a 4m profit each day. Do regular herb runs, MTK and dailies. If you are any good at reading the GE graphs, flip/merch.

Actually, Oaks and Teaks are really cheap right now (see: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Calculators/Construction_Materials#Construction_Materials_-_Player_Transported)

I would go with oak dungeon doors if i were you; not sure if teak tables are faster or not. If you can muster up some money, even mahoganies are fairly cheap these days...

I know it's not even close, I'm working on getting the money :) Great methods, but unfortunately I'm a 1 def pure.. I guess I could go green dragons for some cash.

On a 1 defence pure the best possible money is probably frost dragons (ranging) or the scroll of cleansing. Here's the deal:

You buy 1k herbs for x, vials of water for y and they have a total value z which is approximately x+y (e.g. you won't make much money from selling the pots normally). However the scroll of cleansing save about 1/10 (1/8?) of the herbs you use, so you end up with ~1.1k unf pots which sell of course for more money than you bought the ingredients for. If you are fast with making the pots and have some money to buy a decent stack of herbs this can be as high as 1.5m gp/hr. It's a no-xp moneymaker though.
