Runescape needs Apemeken .

The only difference is that, pre-07, jagex didn't baby everyone, so it was legitimate to have questions/concerns. Now if you still can't figure something out, with all the guides/help forums/ridiculously brain-numbing tutorials, it's understandable that you should be harassed.

So we need to remove all punishment for death?

2010prodded.

Ehhhhh this does not make any sense.

Who is punished 'for' death?

Who is the 2010 prod?

What does this al have to do with my thread?

Whole of OP's post seems like he just needs to harden up.

Anyone who played pree '07 will realise the danger of said areas & graves

And, mentioning graves, you ALREADY HAVE 6 MINUTES TO GET BACK. This is 6 MORE minutes than you used to have

How much more time do you want.

If you die; so be it.

It was part of the game and will be, once again, part of the game.

QQ.

Best post.

Life is hard... there are no quick fixes, why should runescape be any different?

"You can please some of the people all of the time.

You can please most of the people some of the time.

But you cannot please everyone all of the time."

Therefore, toughen up... build an extra tough exterior and deal with it.

Because it's a game, and people play it to escape from the unfair bleakness of real life?

Again, as I replied to someone else... Just because you CAN be an [wagon] doesn't mean you SHOULD. People like you are why these forums are turning to garbage.

Hey hey now buddy... no need to turn it into a personal attack. Just because you are a dreamer doesn't mean I have to be one as well!

I only stated basic facts that are out there for everyone to see. Personally, I gave up on the whole "be nice" ideology a long time ago, and so should you. It only holds you back from fulfilling your true potential. Not to mention 99% of the people out there (in runescape and real life) are only out for themselves and nobody else.

What is the point of playing a MMO if you're going to step on everyone you meet?

Just because you play an MMO doesn't mean that you have to really care for other people or what they think.

I'm a lone wolf that started playing '05ish, knows well what it was like before all this trade limit/gravestone/GE stuff came about and just rolls with the punches that Jagex throws at us.

I actually had to learn about the aforementioned changes when I came back after a break (during which the current system was instituted).

Runescape is an escape for most from their real lives, yes, but last time I checked it's still a game that exists within the confines of the real flesh world we all live in. Even escapes will have unfair aspects and bleakness. That's the sad true of life and consciousness.

Not that i'm saying being a nice person is a bad idea or waste of time (I try to be one as much as possible), but Jagex mods have stated themselves somewhere (don't ask me to find it because I don't really have the time) that in a game where someone with better stats than you will most of the time have better chances in succeeding at whatever you're trying to do, you must either:

1. Get better, or;

2. Get out.

I guess what i'm saying is that you can be as nice as you want and there's nothing wrong with that, but if you expect everyone to do the same for you, you've got a big surprise coming down the line.

Your 2 'rules' read like something I call : 'adapt or go extinct' .

I have also played since 05 and have always adapted and enjoyed RS, if I would not, why would I play.

Ppl can adapt, get better, regardless of being bad or nice, pessimist or optimist, etc.

This is even regardless of stats, an experienced player, who knows the ins and outs on a noob account will often do better at a lot of things then some newb with a bought high level one.

If someone got himself some account that's 'better then them' and comes in my cc , it usually only takes only a lil time before we all know that is not originally there account..

Being an ..[wagon].. lets just call it as it is, also mhas nothing to do with the 'size'of your account, in fact, often its rather undeveloped ones that have owners with lack of (verbal) manners.

An other point.. its a sliding scale, with griefers, bullies on one hand and 'saints', really helpfull players on the other.

Most of us are some were in between, I certainly am no saint.. lol.

On this game killing others does not necessarily make you bad either..does.. it..

Runescape has turned into a world which is weirder than it was when I first joined in '04. The pk'ers used to be admired, almost seen as the noblemen of the game, fighting in the wilderness and bringing home weopens which I would later buy for training. Now, almost 7 years later, pkers have more or less destroyed their own reputation. In a way, they're like the PETA of runescape, always whining and moaning about the lack of updates for them, and pouring pigs blood/flames on anyone who disagrees. Sure, not all pk'ers are like that, and I bet there are some who would still aid me like they did a few years ago, but for me, it seems that the new breed of them is more or less ruining the game. Want proof? Ask any pker if they think they deserve another huge pking update, and almost every one will say yes.

Anyway, .. what does QQ mean?

Alt + Q + Q was a shortcut used in Warcraft 3 to exit the game.

The "QQ" started with DotA, a map for Wc3, where when somebody started whining, others would respond with "QQ". In other words saying that the player should shut down the game and stop playing, usually because they too "noob" to play.

I'll bet 90% of the kids running around here and on RS saying QQ don't even know what it means in its true form ;)

Most people who say QQ these days mean "cry moar," possibly because it looks like two eyes with tears coming out.

Yep and they can thank Wc3 players for making it popular in the first place.

I think its fairly safe to say that the RS community steals and leeches its sayings, lingo and insults from everywhere else on the internet.

Most people who say NEWBIE these days also mean it in a derogatory way although the word is not :)

What is the point of playing a MMO if you're going to step on everyone you meet?

More people to step on of course!

But in all seriousness OP is right, RuneScape could use a bit of a change however after all the experiences I've had with people not blessing me and all of the scammers, flamers, and whatnot I don't really feel inclined to "pay it forward". Despite what that movie and State Farm commercials will have me believe, I don't think that a few kind acts are going to start a chain reaction of niceness and warm fuzzy feelings. If I bless a grave when someone died and lost a lot everyone around says DUDE WTF WHY DID YOU DO THAT (happened already <_< ) and if I buy 200K junk off a random level 60 then he goes "lol thanks idiot nub" running off with his new set of rune, thinking how he can dupe the stupid high-levels into thinking they're being nice.

People are people, and while honour is important.... honour simply doesn't exist on the internet.

"In order to lead, you must learn how to carry your followers upon your shoulders"

"A man is not only defined by his abilities, but also by those of the men with which he surrounds himself"

"The meek fight for skill and fame, the strong fight for power with the skill and fame they already have"

"There is no good without sacrifice and no sacrifice without mercy"
