Th e Doctor
No, if you get another weapon get a maul. Unless you have a divine, then a CLS is worth it for bandos solos. Just a thought.Rapier still beats longsword imo Rarely? Even vs 99 def, trova, divine, etc?Nah, longsword is better than rapier if you're using it on say, full torva. On a fully armored staker (as opposed to a high def monster, since most high def monsters are weak to stab)the longsword would be about 4% better damage rate than rapier. This 4% difference however, does NOT increase with increasing armor. Once you get to a certain armor point, LS is always roughly 4% better. But never much more than 4% better. On a fully armored staker, a chaotic maul deals damage 10% faster than a longsword, and ~14% faster than a rapier. So once again, chaotic maul wins in this scenario unless you think a shield can justify losing 10% damage rate

If without, divine reduces opponent's damage rate by 30% to reduce yours by 10%, so sounds like a win to me. I'm not sure any other shield would be worthwhile though. Someone mentioned CLS > rapier for Bandos, which is false. Even with a shield, the two weapons are absurdly similar. However, the rapier wins hands down when you have to anticrash with the d defender you should be bringing in your inventory. CLS can't compete with rapier in a crash/anticrash scenario. Say you and your friend are doing duo FFA with cls and defender, and then a guy comes in max gear and rapier + defender. You and your friend are now screwed, because the other guy's going to be getting the majority of the drops.
