Shall I buy dragon chain or plate?

Featured Replies

Ok, I'm going to stop training defense once I get to 70. I'm going to get 80 attack, 99 strength, and 70 defense.

As of now, I'm 71 attack, 79 strength, 66 defense. Should I buy dragon plate or chain in the mean time? Will dragon plates or chains go up or dop in the future? Just need some opinions on what I shall do. I feel like a noob all over again. I've been playing RS off and on for about 8 years. :P

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

SS

I would just use rune until you get 70 defense, then use barrows all the way.

bandos chestplate is better than both

He's not asking what is better, he's asking between dragon plate or dragon chain which is better.

I like the plate myself but thats me. probably the best way to decide which to get is compare the stats of the 2 and decide using that.

he's asking ... which is better.

uhh, what? that made no sense.

get neither, they're a waste of money for use, and only for cosmetics. Stick with rune (or bandos if you can afford it)

At 70, you can buy some barrows pieces. Between bandos and barrows, it will depend on what you are doing on which will be better to use.

No he didn't ask if anything was better then dragon, but we are still answering his question by advising him to save his money and buy something better.

Barrows is going to be your best choice, better def stats and saves you money to use on other things IE skills.

Depending on your budget, you should get a fury, berserker ring then full bandos. If you can't afford the first two, don't get dragon chest armour ever.

Or take some time and get a fighters torso, I got one and I still use it. It's great for training and good if you're on a budget. Really, for slayer and training it is better then any dragon or barrows and only slightly less good then BCP.

Also, fury and berserker ring are really important, but that's probably already been said. This is because your training speed is dependent on your strength bonus.

Edit: Also, when you have 80 attack get a rapier while herb farming, that will help more then anything listed here.

It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet.

That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.

As said above neither are worth it. If you have cash to burn bandos is better after a fury/berserker ring. If you don't have the cash to burn rune will suffice. To answer your actual question though it will depend on what you're training on. If you need crush defense get the chainbody, anything else get the plate.

One day, someone really needs to explain to me why paying like 4m for +4 str and a set of armour for, what, at least 30m I think for +6 str is worth it.

Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.

my difinition of noob is i dont like u, either u are better then me or u are worst them me

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

Speed up your kills, thus speeding up drops, thus earning more money. Earn over the amount you paid for it, then it's strictly profiting from there. Most people who buy a Fury and Bandos have the money and enjoy slayer, so the speed is worth it to them.

Fury > zerker ring > bandos

Never buy dragon armour. Barrows is way better and way cheaper.

It's great you know what you're talking about rustiod. Everything you've said is 100% accurate a true.

That being said...your a [bleep]ing [bleep] douchebag, and none of your advice will ever (or should ever) be taken seriously because of it.

disregard good advice because the giver is a douche

Well mainly, you mustn't underestimate what +4 strength can do. That's roughly 1.5% increase in kill speed if you are already maxed. For someone who hits 400s max, it's another 2.5% approx. If we assume 0.5% (due to cannon, fero) from 80-99 slayer @ 30k xp/hr, you're talking around 360 hours total, of which you would then save 1.8 hours. That's .5% only! Bandos will do approximately the same, fury again the same, berserker (i), fire cape etc. After you've finished 99 slayer you sell the lot back and keep the time savings - 2% is already 7 hours. You may also add to that that hitting higher is more fun :D.

one day, when you have hundreds of mils and maxed combats and no buyable skills left, you will realize that paying 4m for +4 str is not a big deal

anyway you can resell the armor
