February 12, 201115 yr Well I figured I should ask your guys' opinion on this before actually doing it. Some friends and I thought itd be fun to play some facebook poker on a tournament table. We wanted to have a side bet using rsgp (a buy-into the tournament using rs cash) just to make it more fun. Is this considered rwt? It seems like it wouldnt be since its just some friends giving each other gold from a bet they had. No real USD $$ or Real Items is being exchanged in the equation. Thoughts? February 12, 201115 yr It's not against any rules. Jagex could mistake something like that for RWT but you'll probably be fine if you've had these friends added for awhile. "Game items must only be exchanged for other items/services within the game. Exchanging game items for items or other benefits in other online games, real-life money or other real-life benefits is not allowed." So it would be RWT if buying into to the tournament could be considered a real-life benefit.
February 12, 201115 yr Technically yes if Jagex knew about it, however they would have no evidence that you guys arent just giving each other money cause your friends Except Jagex read Fansite forums :P But yea, it is against the rules. "Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale."
February 12, 201115 yr I think there 2 elements to this: 1) Buying into the torunament is a form of RWT as you are trading rs goods for rl goods/benefits2) A simple bet where u then trade the gold wouldnt would be fine; i mean like if you and a mate thought opposite teams wuld win the superbowl u culd bet 5k gp and the loser pays it. February 12, 201115 yr Not rwt, you are just exchanging gifts with your friends, ya?But it's used to take an advantage irl, though this is pretty low-key and it would be pretty silly to ban for it imo there's still a risk to it. http://i700.photobucket.com/albums/ww6/aspeeder/Siggy_zpsewaiux2t.png 99 Strength since 6/02/10 99 Attack since 9/19/10 99 Constitution since 10/03/10 99 Defense since 3/14/11 99 Slayer since 8/30/11 99 Summoning since 9/10/11 99 Ranged since 09/18/11 99 Magic since 11/12/11 99 Prayer since 11/15/11 99 Herblore since 3/29/12 99 Firemaking since 5/15/12 99 Smithing since 10/04/12 99 Crafting since 9/16/13 99 Agility since 9/23/13 99 Dungeoneering since 1/1/14 99 Fishing since 2/4/14 99 Mining since 2/28/14 99 Farming since 6/04/14 99 Cooking since 6/11/14 99 Runecrafting since 10/10/14 9 Fletching since 11/11/14 99 Thieving since 11/14/14 99 Woodcutting since 11/20/14 99 Construction since 12/03/14 99 Divination since 2/22/15 99 Hunter since 2/23/15 99 Invention since 01/20/17 99 Archaeology since 5/14/22 99 Necromancy since 11/22/25 Quest Point Cape since 08/20/09 Maxed since 2/23/15 Fire Cape since 02/27/13 Slayer: 3 Leaf-Bladed Swords, 8 Black Masks, 2 Hexcrests, 26 Granite Mauls, 5 Focus Sights, 33 Abyssal Whips, 9 Dark Bows, 1 Whip Vine, 3 Staffs of Light, 15 Polypore Sticks Dragon: 10 Draconic Visages, 7 Shield Left Halves, 20 Dragon Boots, 40 Dragon Med Helms, 8 Dragon Platelegs, 6 Dragon Spears, 20 Dragon Daggers, 5 Dragon Plateskirts, 1 Dragon Chainbody, 63 Off-hand Dragon Throwing Axes, 19 Dragon Longswords, 27 Dragon Maces, 1 Dragon Ward Treasure Trails: Saradomin Full Helm, Ranger Boots, Rune Body (t), Saradomin Vambraces, Various God Pages Misc:1 Onyx,1 Ahrim's Hood, 1 Guthan's Chainskirt, 1 Demon Slayer Boots
February 12, 201115 yr Not RWT. You are wagering a bet using RS cash. The fact that you are not exchanging any other items in real life makes it okay. Its a poker game. The only real trouble you could get in is having an illegal gambling game being played (trust me home poker games are illegal in most states, but no cop is going to bust you for it) It is the same as when my buddies and I made a bet on when Jagex would release free trade following the referendum. 1 Mil from each person in a pool of 6. The bet was made on a Real World event (release of free trade/poker game) but the earnings are purely RS gold. There is not Real World transaction occurring.
February 13, 201115 yr It is rwt. Rwt is using RUNESCAPE ITEMS/GP as real life currency. They're using gp as side bets, thus making it rwt.
February 13, 201115 yr Hmm, I've payed my brother GP to get me water before, But they haven't done anything to me. ^Hawt new Siggy^ Made by yours truly.Yeah, Spanish class is where everything funny happens.Click To see my Origami gallery![hide=Important drops]Important drops..... February 13, 201115 yr As others have said- technically RWT, but who cares.haha, if I bought into those friendly poker tournaments thinking "This is 20m gp" I might take them more seriously
