VoidRealm
So, I was thinking (and I apologise if someone has already come up with this idea/shared it with the community) Could Rain ever be a possibility in Runescape? Or would the graphical side of it be too much of a strain? I just think it would look pretty awesome to have rain in Runescape, and for this too also effect your character, add to the graphical side, help players etc - for example -The rain could add a "slippery shine" to armour -If the player is not wearing head gear, their hair could flatten (basically damp - wet - soaked) -It could add to the graphical appeal of Runescape (possibly even in Low detail?) -It could help players who are farming at the time that the rain activates (Alternative for the players watering crops, the rain would provide the nourishment) -There could even be events where when it rains in certain areas it attracts the attention of some rarer fish (To be created?) Please let me know what you think and even some ideas of your own, as I said, only an idea :)
Utopia
Cool idea, but maybe have an option to turn the weather feature on/off?
Jimmyw3000
there's already things like snow at waterbirth isle, i guess adding more features would just be aesthetics. unless rs turned into pokemon. id rather see jagex working on a new boss or new areas or quests than weather. id probably turn the feature off if it rained in varrock randomly. Pigstein
This would be cool, but since day one I've ranted about wanting to be able to choose whether my character is left or right handed.I don't understand why Jagex can't do something about this. As a lefty, I feel discriminated against :(.I should add tht also as an Englishman, I consider the fact that it doesn't rain in runescape discrimination too! As a lefty, I feel discriminated against :(.I should add tht also as an Englishman, I consider the fact that it doesn't rain in runescape discrimination too! LOL! You realize Jagex are English too. Also, the term Englishman is sexist. And if it makes you feel better, everyone on RS is a left-handed bowperson; the standard way of using a bow is pulling back the string with your dominant hand, whereas everyone on RS uses their left-hand. Because of this, I think the right hand/left hand thing might just be an odd piece of programming that's very difficult to get around. At the very least it presumably was when RS came out, and Jagex just hasn't considered it a big enough deal to do anything about. Squab unleashes Megiddo! Napalm
I always liked the idea of rain in Runescape. Same as a day/night system. I think it would make the ambientation at some areas much better, rather than "It's always sunny in Gielinor".

Wkw
Armor will have to rust. And seeing as 9/10 of the armor everyone uses is hundreds of years old, people won't like seeing their ahrim and karil sets turning into mold. And seeing as 9/10 of the armor everyone uses is hundreds of years old, people won't like seeing their ahrim and karil sets turning into mold. Doesn't really have to be 100% realistic. The explanation for armor not rusting could be the same than for any metal armor not degrading no matter how many years you spend using it on combat, or how weapons never become dull and need resharpening. Wkw
Magic? Then... A wizard did it. A wizard must of made a spemm and used a few trillion too many water runes, so instead of nuking a city, a million tiny spells are falling on it, doing 0.0001 damage to every person Runescape player since 2005 Ego Sum Deus Quo Malum Caligo et Barathum

Guy
It's a cool idea.. but it seems kinda pointless. Not the same as good graphics - rain is just weather. I guess it could be done, not so sure about how much strain it would put on computers. AmberPyre
This idea is actually pretty nice. I'm getting tired of people saying "It's a nice day out today isn't it?" Although it wouldn't otherwise do much it actually adds a more real-world type of feel. I always liked the idea of rain in Runescape. Same as a day/night system. I think it would make the ambientation at some areas much better' date=' rather than "It's always sunny in Gielinor". '] Night could also show an increase in Shooting Star sightings. foursideking
I'd actually love to see a weather system in runescape. Fornald
We could do with optional weather and day/night cycle. I've been thinking this myself but maybe it's a bit pointless past the initial amusement. Could be wrong. [Examine Goblin (level: 5)] This would be worth more cut. Zaaps1
unless rs turned into pokemon. I lol'd. Water spells will now deal 50% more damage while it is raining. Fire spells will now deal half the damage. You now cast Earth Spells slower in rain and Air Spells will always hit. @@@@ ~It's Super Effective!
