Th e Doctor
I voted yes for free trade and the wildy. I don't regret it. Im frustrated because with this update came a bunch of retired players who now feel the need to post blatantly wrong information in the Help and Advice section of these forums. They bring their 2007 suggestions and when they are corrected about the new methods people have developed in the last three years being better they begin to flame about how there's no way they could be wrong because it was the best way to do things back then. Honestly seems like there is a new one of these people every other day since free trade and the wildy came back. /rant. Sy_Accursed
Yeah it is rather annoying when people can't take that their info is outdated or when they are shown literally proof they r wrong and still refuse to see it. shasta_sms
From your example it looks like they want to help the community here but they are just as you said, outdated. Sure there are people who can't stand being corrected but I think it just stems from them being used to the older RS not the current one. Just give them time to get used to what RS has become, I'm sure they will come around eventually.

foursideking
Why do I get the feeling that your rant was more or less directed solely at me? Sure, my advice may be 'old', but at least I'm nice about it, unlike certain people who choose to flame and curse whenever someone doesn't post their 'specificly uuuuber methud'. Its fair to say foursideking posts VASTLY outdated advice that wasn't even the best ways of doing things back then and that he needs to learn to accept that his advice sucks until he re-learns the games current state and thus doesn't help anyone particularly as it is that bad and outdated. But its unfair to say it's made up, it was all valid as (usually) alternative methods back a few years ago. Will H
Eh, I just take solace in the fact that quite a lot of my friends who quit have come back to the game. Yes, they're old geezers who don't understand these newfangled 'Korasi Swords', but it's satisfying to teach them. Also, if I see anyone say 'prod' or equivalent in a serious way, I file them under 'idiot' and ignore them. ~ W ~
Saradomin_Mage
Yes, they're old geezers who don't understand these newfangled 'Korasi Swords', but it's satisfying to teach them.Nothing teaches quite as well, though, as ending up on the sharpened end of Korasi's sword. In the event that people decline advice and decide to try whatever method it is that they prefer, experience usually becomes a better teacher. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
The Dark Lord
Fighting giant skeletons in Damis's dungeon is a really good method for training melee. It's also not very crowded. Another good way to train melee is to go to the Bedabin camp and kill bandits in the bar while wearing a Holy Book or Unholy Book. If you wanna make some money, chop magic logs or fish sharks. You can also solo the Kalphite Queen, and if you have 91 RC you can double craft nature runes via the Abyss for the best money in the game! If you don't believe my advice about 91 RC being the best money-maker in the game, go check out Tripsis' blog in Blogscape.
