J35u5_M4
So I got 222 greaters and decided to give it a shot at solo zammy 99 Att/Str/Def/Range/Mage/PrayOvlsYakTurmoilGot chaotic rapier I was wondering what's a good setup for this? I saw a video of a guy doing it with only mage pray but it seems a little too risky (Never solo'd this guy before lol) so I wanted to start a bit safe, suggestions? Thanks in advance EDIT: So I'll go for the mage prayer method, any idea if a Spectral will work for shield? EDIT2: Here are the stats of the different setups ~Bandos with BSS 116 Stab Attack303 Stab Def297 Slash Def325 Crush Def343 Ranged Def22 Prayer Bonus131 Strength Bonus ~Bandos with DFS 116 Stab Attack320 Stab Def317 Slash Def324 Crush Def363 Ranged Def19 Prayer Bonus138 Strength Bonus ~Torags with DFS 116 Stab Attack358 Stab Def363 Slash Def343 Crush Def361 Ranged Def17 Prayer Bonus132 Strength Bonus ~Torags with BSS 116 Stab Attack341 Stab Def343 Slash Def344 Crush Def341 Ranged Def20 Prayer Bonus125 Strength Bonus I'm thinking about using the Torags with BSS lol, won't need to spend a big amount of cash as I already have the BSS, what do you guys think? green9090
Mage pray is the safer option, with melee prayer he gets an absurd KO move that also damages your prayer. Mage pray also lets you maximize melee and ranged defense easily while also having good melee bonuses- with melee pray the ranged minion tears through your armor. Bring full Bandos and a good melee shield like divine, ely, CKS, or DFS. Soul split flash him to save a TON of food, with the mask bonus you're going to be damaging him a lot, so soul split is extremely effective. Make sure to bring yak scrolls and collect the ashes for a free 20k per kill. Good luck! Levon_
Don't use a spectral if you're praying Mage. The point of spectral is mage defence. Sell it temporarily and use a dfs It's great you know what you're talking about rustiod. Everything you've said is 100% accurate a true. green9090
Don't use a spectral if you're praying Mage. The point of spectral is mage defence. Sell it temporarily and use a dfs+1. If you absolutely don't want to do this, spectral = bss, since you're praying magic. Levon_
Obby shield would be better than a spectral or bss It's great you know what you're talking about rustiod. SirIzenhime
What about a defender?Would being able SS easier, and faster kills outweigh the def?Or is the def important enough for you to go with DFS+ Fisher/Woodcut------Me-----Miner/crafter----Stabber----Leecher ^Golvellius must be so proud^
green9090
The thing with praying mage on Zammy is that you REALLY rely on his normal attacks missing, as they max over 400. Melee defense is extremely important so you don't spend all your time eating. J35u5_M4
I think I'll stick with the BSS (I don't currently own an spectral but I don't want to buy a DFS just for the boss)
green9090
You sure? If you have the cash laying around, it really wouldn't be hard to buy it before you go and sell it right after. Levon_
Obby shield is better than a bss. Also it has a low alch value and costs 30k It's great you know what you're talking about rustiod. green9090
It's significantly less melee defense. I'd put bss and obby about equal. Join "DG Sweepers" Clan Chat for Dungeoneering Floors | Accepting all tipiters who are Willing to Learn |
Quyneax
The very best would be to 'borrow' a divine but that's out of the question I suppose. After that I'd highly recommend buying a dfs like Green suggests, let's not forget the +7 strength. I'd say you should use barrows instead of bandos, as you should get hit quite a bit less (unless you got divine I think). J35u5_M4
I have about I don´t know, ~60m lying around, but I don't really want to buy the DFS, but I'll see if I can get someone to let me borrow theirs or something, I'll try for the div too I guess lol. So, bandos or torags? Because I don't want to buy torags lol and I already have bandos :P
SirIzenhime
torag is stupidly cheap for your cash pile.Unless you already have other random pieces around (NOT guthan skirt, or verrac top), buy torag if you do the pray mage style. green9090
NO to the people saying to use barrows armor. Think for a second. Your major source of renewable healing here is what? YOUR damage output (soul split flashing). Bandos not only has tons of melee defense, but also improves your damage output, which means you heal more. That extra strength bonus is worth more than the extra defense. That's also part of why DFS is a good option here. Not to say that barrows isn't an option if OP can't afford Bandos, but it sounds like he already has it, and it's definitely the better option here. I also REALLY want to know what the problem with buying a DFS, using it for the task, and selling it back for the same price give or take a couple hundred k is? "I don't wanna" really doesn't give us much as far as being able to suggest alternatives, since we don't know if you're just insane or afraid of dragon faces or afraid of the GE or what.
