Carl
Hi there, I'm curious to know what kind of setup I would require to complete the Fight Caves and acquire myself the Fire Cape - one which I've long waited for. I'm not sure if my stats are up for the task, considering I'm not much of a PVM'er and I don't quite have the quickest reflexes in the world nor the most lag-free computer. I also have Overloads and Turmoil, and a Divine Spirit Shield if that changes anything. I don't have any Chaotics, and my range level is pathetic. So any advice on how I should go about obtaining it - what inventory setup I should bring (I'll need a full run-down - I'm not used to this kind of thing!), etc. would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Carl RIP Michaelangelopolous
Nifflin
The problem won't be surviving through the caves, the problem will be not having the quickest reflexes in the world nor the most lag-free computer. PM me in game anytime It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet. That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying. Carl
Well - the computer's not so bad that it's impossible to play. It's just not quite 100%. I can play fairly decent on HD...I'm willing to give it a go I just need assistance with my gear and inventory needs. Helm_Lardar
Have you got an enhanced excalibur or a set of Guthans? One of the two might save a little worrying. I'm not an efficienado.
iuqiddis_sm
You have overloads, so it might compensate for the low ranged level. I went through the fight caves yesterday (died at Jad) for the first time with mostly worse stats than you. My range is 77 (stats in the bar) and I walked through waves 1-62 with really no worries. I used mostly melee, except on the lvl 360's. I ranged the lvl 360's. I always had 'magic deflect' on when the lvl 360's were present. I had EEE/ 5 saradomin brews/ super restores and 10 regular prayer pots. I had 2 extreme range/att/str. When I got to Jad, I had yet to use my brews/super restores and had 2 prayer pots left. I simply died because I mixed up the magic sound with range sound and died in two hits. So yea, bottom line, just got to be super alert at Jad. The rest is fairly easy. Estoc
Big thing that helped me was making it much simpler to recognize his attack sounds. I've always heard that one sounds like retribution and one like a cwars explosive, but that really doesn't help when you need to know instantly what you're getting attacked with. Basically ranged attack is one explosion, and magic is two as shown in that video. Of course there's no substitute for a cool head when fighting him, being able to more or less instantly recognize his attacks helps a lot too. As for levels, it's more about surviving Jad than surviving the waves. People have killed him with ridiculously low levels, so I'd assume yours are fine. Never seen everyone mention the above tip though, so I figured it was worth posting. JPMC Mate
You have the stats to Melee the Fight Caves, so I'd do that till Jad (or even Jad if you can switch between 3 prayers, but default to melee after every ranged/mage atk). Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous.
Quyneax
Bandos - soul wars cape - barrows gloves - dragon defender - dragon boots - amulet of fury - berserker ring (imbued if possible) - whip/rapier - fsh on task, neit off task. Use 3 overloads, 10-12 super prayer, 4 brews, eee/claws and melee the lot. On Jad, do your usual prayer switching + ranging with crossbow but with your divine equipped in case things go wrong. I don't have a Soul Wars cape, nor Barrows Gloves. A dragon defender? Would Divine not be better? Or should I get an Elysian too? I have an imbued Berserker ring. Also a whip, no rapier. I don't slay, so I don't have a FSH (I presume that's what you're talking about!) I also don't have an EEE. I do have claws. JPMC Mate
Then get Barrows' Gloves. :o Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Quyneax
Divine would be better if you were taking damage. Properly, you would only be hit by the monsters up to level 180 (if you soul split them) and that should be tankable with a defender. Get barrows gloves & sw cape, it doesn't take too long. With divine/ovl/turm Nomad is a complete joke. If you were able to obtain a torva piece or two, you could perhaps even tank Jad, though your defence level is quite low. You would simply pray mage, equip torva/divine, and whip everything until it's dead, basically on autoretaliate and soulsplitting when the 360s are dead. Carl
I'm willing to chin and increase my Ranging level, but Nomad's Requiem and Recipe for Disaster seem to be quite a lot of work extra. I appreciate all of your posts! And that will be especially helpful, Montychuck! RIP Michaelangelopolous
fatherdeath
If you havent done any RFD, you're skipping over the best gloves ingame. It's well worth the effort. I never understood why people wold put money into bandos/getting fire cape, and refuse to get free gloves (that have a better str bonus...)
