Vroqren
Well, I read the Barrows guide on tip.it, and it looks fairly simple. I know I'm not ready for that skill wise either yet, but I'll definitely be doing that before I embark on Godwars. Besides, if I happen to get lucky, a few extra million gp couldn't hurt. Any tips you guys have for me that don't relate to my skills? I'm not looking for people telling me "You're screwed", I'd rather have people tell me stuff like "You'd have a better chance of success if you did this". Any help would be great! Levon_
barrows is extremely simple, get 70 mage and 70 range and use a black sallyor if you don't want to do that slayer dart dont get your hopes up for godwars. you basically need maxed combats to do it effectively, not to mention constant crashers It's great you know what you're talking about rustiod. Everything you've said is 100% accurate a true. That being said...your a [bleep]ing [bleep] douchebag, and none of your advice will ever (or should ever) be taken seriously because of it.disregard good advice because the giver is a douche THAT MAKES YOU A BETTER PERSON
Sir_Squab
You're screwed at Godwars, you'll have a better chance of success doing barrows. Try to get 70 mage/range first. If you can beat desert treasure - this makes it a lot easier, as you can teleport to Kharyl (Canifis.) More importantly, you can set up an altar, portal room and portal to Kharyl (aka Canifis) right beside your house entrance portal. Makes life so much easier. As for use mage style of the lizard on all the brothers except Ahrim, and range Ahrim. Do Dharok first because you need prayer for him, then Karil because he's a pain as well. After them, it's up to you on if you want to use prayer for all the brothers or defense. If you decide to go for defense, aka using armour, you should try to get 70 defense so you can equip barrow gear. Once you loot the chest, if you're going for the cheapo setup, teleport to your house, recharge prayer, go back to canifis and repeat. Squab unleashes Megiddo! It's like buying nukes for North Korea.Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupineThe only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it. BeNiceOk
The best thing about Barrows is that it is highly elastic on the methods you can choose, and levels that it requires. That being said.. there are certainly more "efficient" ways to complete barrows, however in all honestly you can do barrows with just about anything you want. Also you don't have to worry about crashers, or anyone trying to compete directly against you. That alone makes it more fun than GWD  Just off the top of my head, some of the common methods used are: 1) Sally-Ancient Method. Requires the use of a Salamander (black) and Ancients (ice spells) to freeze the barrows brother and then attack from the salamander from a diagonal position. This is usually labeled the most "efficient method" because it's quick and relatively cheap. 2) Verac's. If you like to go all melee, Verac's does pretty well. Its special ability lets you hit though the brothers defense. While not as quick as magic methods, if you don't have access to maxed melee stats and chaotic weapons, Verac's is usually a good route to go with. 3) Surging/Slayer Dart. Use straight up magic on all the brothers (except Ahrim) and just plow your way though them. This is the most straight-forward method, as it's mostly just pray and cast spells. 4) Other methods. You can use your best melee weapon, best magic spell, broad bolts, or frankly anything you want. You may not be able to do the barrows "quickly" however there is certainly a low minimum of what is required to complete the barrows. PS. Completing Ancient Treasure is highly recommended for a house portal to Canfis. Having a house with both an alter and Canfis portal is a very helpful setup. Above all, have fun! Quyneax
Getting 70 ranged and magic is crucial. Your prayer level is also low (which does not really affect your combat performance, just the number of chests per trip you can do). You can't tank the brothers very well I think, 70 defence will help a lot. Other than that, 82 magic will give you ice blitz instead of burst, which freezes for 5 additional seconds. Vroqren
Thanks for all the suggestions. I have a portal room in my house, right next to an alter, though I have not done Desert Treasure. I'll make another portal room with Ancient Magic teleports after I do Desert Treasure. I do however have Varrock, and can use fairy rings from north of the Grand Exchange to get back to Canifis fairly quick. While not as quick, it should be quick enough. I'll probably try it with my Abyssal whip, and a rune crossbow. I might also try with Verac's weapons. I'll bring plenty of Prayer Pots, and probably Monk Fish. If I get anything specifically good, I'll post on the forums. Any help, suggestions, or advice would still be appreciated. Join FC "w60_find_pen" For Penguins every week, and helpful people! gordoarcane
I did/done 100's of barrows runs, and still will and do. The main thing as in RS is to have fun, of course there will be many various suggestions, tried and tested tips, but of course nothing to stop you finding out what suits you and your personal style. The way I do it, is costly, however I personally offset xp/gp/fun... It's a game after all. I use the shop in Canifis, bring noted p pots, sharks, and pretty much mage everything in sight when im down there. Ahrim is of course an exception to the rule, dds him, "Stab" works slightly better, if lucky get him poisoned. When you get a drop from the chest its happy days.. It was for me on my old acc my main source for the rest of the game, I was on ancients back then, and trips to W2 to sell my newly gotten drop, stock up on runes, buy herbs...all a happy but distant memory now ! Word of warning. : I still see gravestones down there even today, taking risks with no pray is dodgy, obviously depends on armor, combat lev etc. I personally was and always will be a "Prayer Noob" in there, I have seen what Dharok can do on 5% hp hehee... So enjoy.. and good luck !
Hegelstad
I find it most fun and most rewarding in terms of efficiency to use the best/most expensive method, in my example Ice blitz all the way and clawrush ahrim and karil with spec recover :-) My lame drops:6 Effigys1 D Med - 1 D Dagger1 Verac's Helmet - 1 Guthan's Platebody
Vroqren
I personally was and always will be a "Prayer Noob" in there.Same here. I can't fight any npc's above level 100 without prayer, and certain npc's below 100... Anyway, you're right, it's a game, and the point is to have fun. I have one more question though. In the guide, I might have just missed it, but I don't think it really explained where to dig. I plan on killing all of the brothers, if that changes anything. Also, how do I know which brother the chest will take the reward from? It said something about the game randomly selecting a brother to have his reward put in the chest... Anyway, thanks for the tip(s). Join FC "w60_find_pen" For Penguins every week, and helpful people!
JPMC Mate
It is randomly selected what piece of Barrows equipment you will get from chest, so there is no way to tell. You dig towards the top of the mound. Really? Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous.
