hfbrads
I'm sitting on 3 millionish earth runes right now. Ever since the Aubury update the essence bots have gone and essence is shooting up. This has resulted in some runes like natures and bloods also shooting up but earth runes have stayed pat. Is this because runecrafting is not a major factor? Where do all the other earth runes come from?

Where do all the other earth runes come from?slayer? + why are they used? For non combat magic (mainly lunars) mud staves are best.. For combat magic only very few people use "earth-based" spells. First they came to fishingand I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing Then they came to the yewsand I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews Then they came for the oresand I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak out for me. Jmmy
People doing dailies bring a lot of earth runes into the economy every day. And as the above user explained, we rarely use earth combat spells, and usually use a mud staff if casting lunar spells.
Saradomin_Mage
Surely the people buying the earth runes on the other end are using them for something, though? In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

shasta_sms
I think it does ultimately comes down to supply and demand, there is not all that great a need for the runes themselves outside of the times were it is impractical or a pain to use the earth staffs. Which is none to often maybe besides some Pking spells and binding during F2p wars. So the price is stable but I would think that it if anything is more likely to go down than up. Codguy
ZMI brings in Earth runes, not as many at high levels, but definitely at lower levels.
X Battousai
As users have said, ZMI and slayer are likely the greatest sources. Perhaps some players obtain them in other ways (non-slayer monster drops), but I do know how they are used. Pking with vengence (small total % usage, as I doubt pkers bring thousands). Its likelier that Mud run crafting, as well as combo rune crafting, drains a lot of these. Perhaps lava and mud are the biggest drains, but I'm not 100% sure
Zaaps1
Probably from shops via people doing dailies, ex. Mage Arena or Baba Yaga. ~It's Super Effective! sebas379
I for instance craft them, cause earth with gloves is pretty much the fastest F2p rc xp. now all i gotta do is cut through my supply (around 70k ess left of a 90k load) and hope in the mean time prices rise so i make a crapload of cash:Pi'm useually accompanied by several other crafters/bots in any random world, so i suppose that's aalso a major factor [hide]First they came to fishing and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing; Then they came to the yews and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews; Then they came for the ores and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores; Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me.[/hide]
jjjon123
[troll] earth and mud staffs [/troll] actually I have no idea. Probably as the other posters said f2p rc, zmi. I'm thinking slayer and mh'ing bring the most in. 1,000 F2P Total Level Reached 10/8/10 !
