hey everyone, i just started desert treasure, i am thankful to hear ANY tips, advices, experiences about the quest in general, and especially the 4 diamond bosses

here's my experience/observations from doing the quest

 

 

 

(THE MOST TIME-SAVING TIP INCLUDED)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

First, do not use safespots, they are either removed or take you 1000 sharks to figure out how it actually works

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Shadow Guy -

 

 

 

do NOT listen to forum quest guide, tip.it quest guide, or any other site's quest guides. to get the guilded cross, do NOT keep pickpocketing bandits/rogues, it will take you literally 3 hours. instead, go to rogue's den (mini game, located south of burthrope games room, north of heroes guild), they sell lockpicks (Default stock is 25) for 20 gp each (maybe 10). I bought 100 of them, and used about 40.

 

 

 

First form is pretty easy to kill. Now use your head, think logically. What are shadows casted on? Grounds, floors, or earth! So if there's no earth, there's no shadow. Kill second form with EARTH BLAST or any Earth spell, preferably not earth strike... (thanks Im_Watchen) (i kept hitting 10+'s) and I needed only about 20 doses of prayer pots or so. He drains approximately 8 prayer pots per second.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Smoke Guy - Simple, protect melee, 70 water bolts. Smoke, the place is hot, filled with fire, now use your head, think logically, what's used to put out fire, and sometimes people spray these over dusty place? (such as broken building etc) WATER! any water spell does it, preferably not water strikes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ice Guy - I wore these: mystic hat, black hide body, black hide chaps, black hide vambs, chaos gauntlet, climbing boots (you don't wear it until you beat the boss) anti dragon shield, glory, zammy cape, fire staff, and fire bolted him. When killing the 5 trolls, I took off blackhide because the trolls ONLY melee.. and put them back on again when fighting the boss... The entire trip took me about 10 sharks, 6 doses of prayer pots, 6 doses of super restores, and 150 fire bolts. He is very weak against FIRE spells (use your head, think logically) use any fire spells (preferably not fire strike). I don't know if zammy flame works, it should. Someone confirm please.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Blood Guy - I tried to melee and got it down to its last few hp's until it started to act all weird and bend down and stuff, and it killed me. Second time i went with half initiate half mystic, and magic darted him to death (not a good idea) too me many deaths and minds... and sharks... no pots.

 

 

 

Now use your head, think logically, shadow is weak against earth, smoke is weak against water, ice is weak against fire, what's blood weak against? NOTHING! hahaha, got you bad didn't I. Someone please confirm if CRUMBLE UNDEAD is strong against him or not.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pyramid - I used 3 doses of anti poisons, 3 doses of prayer, 4 sharks, and only fell twice. (I think i'm lucky)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

so my desert treasure quest was a pretty good experience except i lost my obsidian shield...

To kill damis, Earth wave him. I heard someone say he was easy when you did that. Protect from magic and tons of sharks should help you to (save you)

To kill Damis halberd him from the safe spot in the little alcove thing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To kill Dessous halberd him across the fence. Mage/range him and hee teleports to you.

Best way i have found (helping 3 people do this part of the quest) to go into the circular room to the north of the dungeon, and try to get someone to block him. This is how I, and 3 people I helped did it (I blocked while they maged him).

I realized that, the first time i went, i went with a hally and full inventory of trouts, but i couldn't find a safespot, so then i realized it must have been deleted

i killed Desseous with range wasn't very hard to do

Your going to need more then trouts to take out Damis, try sharks...he hits deathly high.

heres how to do dessous:

 

 

 

prot from ranged, fire bolt w chaos gaunts, lobbies+ highly recomemded. if he teles next to you just switch sides.

Is the bug still there for the guy in the coffin?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Where you walk to a certain spot and he is out of range but you can attack?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It was in some guide, and when I did it on my main I did this.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I think you walked like 15 sqaures from coffin to some patch of grass and you could range him.

 

 

 

Also does blocking still work? I know thye took blockin out of Barrows and wasn't sure if this also effect DTresure.

Hmm, I wouldn't recommened hallying desseous, that would be a bit dangerous since I tried that once and he teleported next to me =/

i said the first time i went, i only went to find the "safespot" for damis, then i realized it was removed

u can't hally vampire, since it teles to you.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

take ibans staff, 2 prayer post and rest of inventory sharks + runes, also take mystic. use protect from melee prayer and cast ibans blast on him. my dmg was 20+. wehn u protect from melee he uses range atatcks that gives u 10 dmg. for most of the time u giving him double, and he has only 131 hp (maybe be more, but less than 140) thats about 20 casts. u don't even need full inventory of food, but don't take chances.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

kamil: take super stat restore pots, dhides, supper set and dds, or whip. he hits u with ice spell, smth like ice burst. when u frozen eat. protect from melee all the time. drink supper set to boost your stats. and don't forget supper restore. some ppl say it's easy to kill with fire spells, but i managed died with them. but it was my mistake with trolls :).

This is the only way I had any chance of beating this quest. If you are from lvl 70-90 doing this quest YOU NEED ONE!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Why Though?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is how I used it: I did this quest at around lvl 80, it's an easy quest except the bosses are pretty hard.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now...how I beat ths bosses was using the electophial. On my first couple of trips to the boss i woulden't know waht to bring right, so i would fight them and then when i ran out of food and whe i was getting owned I would electophail away. Some bosses took 6-7 trips before I figured out the dream inventory for them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

But, i also used it as a panic button: when i iwas about to die from the boss i would use it to tele away safely. This saved me so much! And because of it I didn't die once :shock: doing the quest :shock:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oh yeah and another tip i found is that the one that drains your prayer is frieken impossible to melee..........so.......sara strike = pwnage.

Like i've said many times...This quest wasn't very hard at lvl 72 combat...Not even the bosses. All that you need is the correct spell and inventory. Heck the pyramid was the worst for me.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Damis\Ice Guy\Blood Guy: Your Best Fire Spell...I Used Fire Blast God Spells work great too but i don't like the cash needed for them

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fire Demon: Water Spells, God spells will hit him well to...But i wasn't smart enough to figure this out so i did this part twice and meleed him the secound time. Super Energy Pots or Energy POTS ARE NEEDED!!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And last but not least...For EVERY GUY. Take at least 4 prayer pots...Thought most i only used 2-3. Damis took me 1 trip to kill Miraculously...But all 4 prayer pots...I did the Ice Guy with 3 prayer pots...Blood with 1...And Fire with 1 each trip. Have fun and happy Diamond Collecting...Btw only used 75ish sharks.

yes mage is HIGHLY recommended, they almost have no "physical" weakness

You have to do Eadgar's Ruse to use the tele though
