Pretty debateable on Bandos, I've heard that the CLS is marginally better the the Rapier for Bandos itself, although the Rapier comes in handy for the minions. It's fairly close though. As for slash vs stab, that honestly just depends on if you're using the Rapier or the CLS.

Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.

The rest of my sig. You know you wanna see it.

It shouldn't be debatable, there should be one which can be proven to be better through math and all that

Is there any data or anything on this

I know rapier is better for minions but I'm wondering about graardor

All the data says that they are damn near equal except for on the minions. Check out this thread

Rapier w/ defender>cls with defender>cls w/ shield>rapier w/ shield. Regardless, bring defender and rapier for minions and anticrash.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

Cls always beats rapier in graardor

Is that factoring the time saved killing the minions? Please do show your math.

Why not bring both? Cls for graar, rapier for minions. If you are ever only going to get one chaotic, then you would most likely have a rapier, so no choice there, unless all you do is bandos or something in which case cls vs rapier overall may matter.

Cls has been proven by recent testing to be better.

Graardor is probably not weak to crush, which is why you don't see a lot of that here.

Infact part of the reason why rapier and cls is so hotly debated is because of his slash weakness.

Contrary to popular belief the rapier is in fact better than cls at bandos especially if you have fighter hat/ardy cape. Unless you have a divine then cls would probably be more efficient.

Loving how everyone is stating conflicting points with complete certainty but no evidence to back them up. :P

Tieszen's data begs to differ.

EDIT:
In a moderately large team (say, 5 elements), wouldn't the maul be a better option?

I'd say - use a cls on the boss, with a divine. Switch to rapier + defender on minis, use either rapier or cls + defender when getting crashed and claw spec often.
