January 9, 200620 yr Ok, I've been reading stuff about previous and forthcomming "Mass Bannigs" Do these really exist? How do you find out when they happen, I mean, does Jagex publish something like "A mass banning occured yesterday at such time, X players were banned"? When did the previous mass bannings happen?

We have very advanced detection routines, and we can tell if you use programs to control your character for you. We've just banned over 400 players for cheating in this way. Many of whom were high level members. We'd like to remind our players that using macros to play for you is NOT allowed and we WILL permanantly ban you for it, no exceptions!

It's simple propoganda how many they ban. If those figures were given now though, with the number of members and autoers increasing dramatically, I'd begin to believe it. Well, I think Jagex does a bit of banning everyday instead of massive bannings once per "x" amount of time. I'd be curious to know how many people Jagex ban per day in average O.o

January 10, 200620 yr Jagex rarely uses mass bans. Mass bans are usually reserved for extreme cases of rule breaking. For example the Party Hat dupe. Other than that they usually stick to bans here and there based off reports from players and their own Mods. Apparently there's one coming up in response to the vast amounts of autoers. :twisted:

January 10, 200620 yr they had a mass wipe for [Caution: Hack-Scam Site] which i was lucky enough to be apart of, they also banned a bunch after the knife bug. they ban poeple, but the mass bannings come after jagex figures out how to catch people abusiung a bug.

January 10, 200620 yr We had a "Mass" ban in 2004 which JaGeX says 3000 accounts were caught. Well, not really a "Mass" ban if you ask me, when you see at least 5 level 3's hacking on Rune Essence on any given time, Rune Essence rock, or world. 5 noobs * 3 shifts a day * 4 Rune Essence Rocks * 70 F2p worlds = 4200 autoers. Cool. Not even 70% of the autoing accounts banned, and this is not including the WC'ers, Fishers, blah blah blah... :evil: I know RuneScape expanded a bit since then, but... Still seems like a propaganda to scare people off autoing, because it's just easier to do so rather than jabbing a steel fist in every one of their faces. :roll: RsN: Arcade

January 10, 200620 yr Author Oh, thank you all for the replies, I get and idea now of what this is all about. Yes, I think its all about ptopaganda too. But on the other hand, I have never seen an autoer. You guys say they are everywhere, but Iv never seen them. It must be really hard to identify one just with your eyes, because c'mon, we all look the same when we are mining: we pik a rock, mine, mine, mine and run to bank. Everybody does the same, lol.
