August 7, 201114 yr So, i have a coworker who convinced me to log into my account after 2+ years..which I did, and found that in June of this year some jerk hijacked my inactive account and got it banned. After fixing the "payment" issue where it said I owed them money, i upgraded my account to members to see what happened to my bank/lvl's/etc. I'm not 100% sure what all was taken from my bank..which..btw, I HAD it behind a pin way ages ago and it was removed (wtf!?). I had purposely set that up years ago to horde my stuff in there so if it ever DID get hacked, it would be safe. I'm going on 14 years of playing around online and this is the first time I ever have had anything remotely like this happen. Anyways, the question I have is...i have skill lvl's all kinds of wonky from what they were when I last logged off (i took a screenshot in september of 2009 when I last played) and I also seemed to have lost all my gold and most of my items from my bank, tho strangely enough they left my seeds alone and a santa costume and the items in my backpack (which was the dragon armor). Is this..fixable? Do they ever restore your stuff to a prior date? I'm still not sure how the heck this person got into my bank account since it DID have a pin on it. >:| I checked my email and I had zero notification of any change to my account. I was never notified of the pass change or anything. I have since changed passwords...everywhere..as I concluded it must have been some long process of matching passwords for me from various sites to get into this account. I have zero experience with being banned/botted/hacked..so I'm rather at a loss. I really don't want to lose all that progress I made before due to this entire incident. August 7, 201114 yr Perhaps they deleted your PIN and waited the 3 (or 7) days for it to be removed. Also, I'd assume they botted the account to get it banned, so your stats were rolled back. I'm sorry to say you've lost all of the things you mentioned :/ The fact that nobody understands you doesn't mean you're an artist.

I'm sorry to say you've lost all of the things you mentioned :/ what is the point of putting a dang pin on there if someone can just delete it? *sigh* I was hoping to get my stuff back as on WoW, which I've been playing for 2+ years, they usually just give people their stuff back without an issue. August 8, 201114 yr Author Hopefully, tho I think my appeal to RS in their appeal thing was vastly underdone..I had no clue what I was doing with the appeal and just wrote a very confused appeal talking about negative money owed and how I was confused how anything even occurred. :/ I guess if they answer me in the negative I'll attempt a second appeal....in a more clear manner. I'm not sure if i should even use the account until the appeal is finished..as if they adjust lvl's there might not be a point to lvl'ing anything at the moment. (i once had a WOW Gm of mine get hacked and she became an "advertiser" spammer...when she came back she was muted but they gave back all her stuff and the guild bank that was stolen..thought that was very cool of them.) If they clear this up for me and reinstate my stuff and my lvl's I'll definitely start playing again, if they don't..well..it's not worth the hassle and I'll probably give up this game for good as this is soooo not worth all the stress...but..at least it got me to change every single password on everything I can find. August 8, 201114 yr Jagex doesn't actually read your appeal - they (or a bot) look at the evidence and ban/unban accordingly, only reading appeals if they can't decide. August 8, 201114 yr Author I just think its rather ridiculous..and misleading about the bank pin. This is now my biggest complaint. If they had actually just left my pin on there and not allowed it to be removed..this issue would not be so extreme. I don't get how they allow someone to remove a blasted pin when the whole point of it is so if you get hacked or whatnot..they can't get into it. On a completely side note, i'm very baffled as to what the "hacker" took out and what they left. Seeds=safe (it seems), watermelons, and dang this botter really loved lobsters. At least I sold those lobsters to get more than 3k in my bank account. :/ Also, he/she/it left a lot of my potions (4). Im mostly sad about the loss of some of my random items (i'm a bit of a hoarder) and my runes...those darn runes took a long time to accumulate. August 8, 201114 yr I feel the need to point out that a pin is only 1,000 combinations. Even if the pin wasn't removeable, it probably wouldn't take too much to create a program that could hack a bank pin in a week or two. A 1,000 combination pin is far less secure then a password, so if they can get your account it's just a matter of time till they get your PIN (so long as you never check in on the account.) In fact, something about PINs: if you try too many combinations and fail, you go 15 minutes until you can try again. If logging out resets that, I could probably MANUALLY hack a pin in a week or two. Also, these are very conservative estimates. Anyways, what if you forget your PIN? The reason I know about the 15 minute timer thing is a long time ago, I changed my PIN then in the space of few hours forgot exactly what it was. I remembered the "hint" for lack of a better phrase, but I jumbled the numbers. Figured it out a few hours later.
