Powerfrog
Range is by far my least liked combat skill, but i intend on killing TD's religiously as soon as i possibly can, and i'd like to be capable of killing all gwd bosses as efficiently as possible too. So i pretty much have to train range... I currently only have about 7m bank, but a friend owes me 85m that i should get back in 2 or 3 weeks. (I lent him 85m to get him back on his feet when i had 150m, since then i've lost most of my remaining bank, long story :P) So i am looking for a small loss/profitable method that is good xp and preferably not going to make me want to cut my eyes out while doing. I have void + broad bolts. I've been cannon/rapiering black dragons today for effigies but that's really rather minimal range xp and i can't see myself getting 99 range from that any time this decade. I intend to red chin to 99 as soon as i have money (I'm getting 92 herblore first, so if prices rise thanks to xp weekend i may not be able to afford this.) but until then i'd like to train my range as high as possible. If i can get half decent charms or effigies while training that will deifnatley be a huge plus that i wouldn't mind losing some extra GP doing. OrMockHim
If you haven't gotten 99 slayer yet, you really should try range-slaying. It's the best way to train Ranged imo. :)

And didn't crawlers' effigy rate get nerfed? ...How useful would herbicide be here if i were to cannon till 90+ range? What weapon should i wield while cannoning, cmaul or rune cbow... Or other? tigershelby2
Slayer is a pointless skill. Made me LOL. If you say this, you are saying that you dont use a whip, d boots, or other slayer only gear. LitterBug
To be honest, you can get some pretty decent exp for cheap in kuradels dungeon You can knife (they're all relatively cheap) most tasks in the dungeon and the ferocious ring will add tons to your damage.I was getting ~80k+ exp with black knives (from knife monkey pick pocketing) so I imagine you could easily get close to 90k or more (with ranging potions/extremes/etc + better knives or darts)

If you say this, you are saying that you dont use a whip, d boots, or other slayer only gear.My bad, slayer is a pointless skill to train. The best task, abyssal demons, are no where near as good money as things such as frost dragons. There simply isn't any reward for leveling and it's doubtful jagex are going to do anything about it. And the only slayer related gear i use is dboots, and i have the level to get them myself. (Not that i ever would, they're like 150k.) Cannoning spectres is profitable..? Would that require banking the herbs every 2 minutes or are you talking just about stackables?

tigershelby2
Cannoning specs used to be profitable, but I dont think it is anymore due to the large drop in herb price. That may have changed with bxpw though, so its worth looking into, even though it is alot of banking. Just be sure to take a macaw to get better herbs. Besides herb drops, they also have a pretty nice rare drop table, for a lvl 92 of course. I forget the exact number, but Ive gotten a large number of torstols in a single drop before. Up to you depending on your luck. Barrows: Verac- Helm, Brassard x 2,Torag- Body, HammersKaril- CrossbowGuthan- BodyAhrim- Hood, Staff
Vezon Dash
Cannon wallaskies in the Waterbirth dungeon. It makes cash and about 20 crimson and 30 blue charms an hour. Look at the rs wiki page for wallaskies for more information.
Powerfrog
Cannon wallaskies in the Waterbirth dungeon. It makes cash and about 20 crimson and 30 blue charms an hour. Look at the rs wiki page for wallaskies for more information.I have heard of them before and the charm rate certainly sounds appealing to me. I'm going to give these a shot, thanks for reminding me of them. Also: What should i wear? I obviously want a high prayer bonus... But elite void won't effect the cannon accuracy so dhide should be prefered? And SW cape would be great but ava's would really decrease the cost..? EDIT: Just went for a trip in dhide with a swcape as bolts are fairly cheap anyway, and it worked out pretty awesome. The charms aren't spectacular for someone that has no lifed waterfiends for weeks, but they're not bad at all! And the range xp was pretty nice too. I think next time i'll bring 2 war tortoise pouches as the trip ended before i had run out of supplies due to my familiar dieing on me (epic fail, i teled as it died so i didn't get any loot... Grrrr, lol.) But imagining that i did get the loot in the tort, it would have paid for the cannonballs and prayer potions pretty evenly, so this is great. (Although none of the items i did get seem to be selling at well under average in the ge, this worries me a little.)
