Ibcrootbeer
Risk Level - Lower than traditional methods I was clue hunting in the wilderness when I stumbled into the chaos elemental. Having already gotten my next clue, and not risking any items (clue/Sara Sword/spade) I attacked the pUre a cHaOs of crEatuRe with hopes of somehow 1 hitting it, or getting a quick trip to edgeville. While only hitting the boss once with melee, the special attack dealt nearly 500 damage, along with the melee hit I reduced the elemental's total hp by 1/4. Few runs back and I slain the beast, picking up over 1k in chaos runes I knew I was onto something. I finished my clue and continued to slay the chaos elemental on my own, soon running into another Kamakazee player Off 2 hell4u Here is what we came up with after combining eachother's strategies. My original setup: Saradomin swordRing of WealthKnock out Aura (unconfimed if this actually works) His original setup: Dragon clawsAmulet of furypotions Best Known Setup: Dragon ClawsRing of wealthAura (if they work on boss npcs) or Barrows gloves (if aura doesnt work or is running out)Combat potion (protect item) I would say ring of wealth is a must, unsure if jennica's ring would increase ancient armor drop rate, as the chaos ele isnt a revenant? Other notable weapons:Dragon dagger (far less accurate than claws unfortunately)Godsword, Saradomin sword, or zamorakian spearAbyssal whip (can be used with dds, or use whip spec which is more accurate)Crystal bow Any other weapon that has highly accurate/damaging special STILL I tried all of these, none compare to the D claws efficiency Strategy: Deal as much damage as possible, Die, Repeat. seriously that's the plan :D Steps:1. Bank in edgeville, select your weapon and 2 other items + combat potion (OVERLOAD would be even better)2. Select quick prayer/curse (Magic protection, best melee boost available to you, protect item (if you have 4))3. Use the lever located south of the Edgeville bank4. Slash the web and run east while turning on weapon special attack and taking a sip of your potion (activate your aura if you haven't already)5. Turn on your quick prayer and attack using special attack first!6. Die7. Repeat until the elemental is dead, then choose to bank loot, or attack again. Average kill:death ratio 1:4.5 1 elemental for every 4-5 deaths Teaming (not soloing anymore... call it 3-iteming... or Kamikaze killing, sounds cooler) This is unnecessary, but can reduce number of times you die per elemental by half or third (if you have 2 friends) The setup for gear is the same, however attacking is slightly different. You want to wait near the elemental (out of attack range) until all of your party members are there. Then surround the elemental and use your special attacks, this will cause the boss to spin, and attack less. besides that, its the same thing, attack, die, run back. Pros to soloing:1. no risk of items being lost (unless you skull) (opposed to VERY HIGH risk mentioned on monster hunting guide)2. very little cost per run (only combat potion)3. VERY little competition on no lootshare worlds (occasional ranger)4. all loot is yours!!!!5. potential for rare armor/weapon drops! (vesta sword 42m)6. Every death spawns you back in Edgeville with Full prayer, hp, run, and special attack.7. No fear of Pkers, your planning to die each trip, so not risking any items. Cons:1. ALOT OF RUNNING2. if you dont have d claws, or cannot afford them, it takes more runs to kill3. lots of junk drops make this get old fast! (took about 20 kills for first revenant drop, Corrupt dragon med) Credits to Myself (Ibcrootbeer) and my friend (Off 2 hell4u) for developing this setup. Powerfrog
I'd highly recommend placing a cannon down on your first trip. When you die the cannon will stay there and you can simply run up with 30 cannonballs each trip, fill the cannon, unload your specials, die, repeat. WARNING: YOUR CANNON WILL ATTACK OTHERS FAMILIARS, SKULLING YOU. I occasionally solo there in normal gear (c maul + cheap stuff) and get 20+ kills a trip, i don't really see the purpose of rushing at it unless you're very low level and can't survive using conventional means, but if you are, this is pretty awesome. I'm level 118, friend 109. When we kill it together, only takes 1-2 rounds, if all 4 of our specs hit well, we could kill it without losing hp. Never tried cannon, but if you die with it, if you skull, does it drop? Or does it return to the dwarf cannon guy. If it drops it sounds risky, you skull, and even with protect you would only keep 1 piece. I don't have chaotic weps (HATE DUNGEONEERING) the point of rushing it is every time you die, you get full hp, full prayer, full special attack, full run and spawn in Edgeville. So it takes under a minute to run back to the elemental, and you deal more damage using the special attacks + potion + prayer without worrying about running out of food, running out of prayer, or even pkers because your planning to die. I'm a noob at heart... I like doing things that don't cost me anything with potential for large profits. (combat potions (4) are 30gp ea, that's my only expense per elemental)
Jeff Delu
Uhh I guess you should bring a glory/fury and use protect item. But seriously, why not wear welfare gear like d hide and bring food. You wouldn't need to die 5 times every kill and you would make faster money in the long run. 2496 total achieved June 30, 2013

Leaf
Dhide, super sets, and food are probably worth the risk. A main weapon like rapier/whip would probably be a much better idea than claws. It takes way to long to run back to the elemental, so you wouldn't want to die multiple times per trip.
Th e Doctor
Note, overloads don't work in the wilderness Armadyl Drops : 4 Hilts; 3 Chestplates; 2 Chainskirts; 1 Helmet; 1 Buckler; 2 Shard 1; 2 Shard 2; 1 Shard 3Nex : 1 Zaryte BowKalphite King : 1 Drygore Rapier ; 1 Drygore Longsword : 1 Drygore Offhand Rapier : 1 Drygore Offhand Longsword
Cwazy Casper
fill invent with stews / vials, the elemental cant remove your armour / weapons if your inventory is full, meaning your constantly protected with your armour, and ready to run back in the fray when he teles you away
