Gold Charm Hunting

Featured Replies

Time to finally level my summoning up. I have a decent collection of charms but where are some common grounds for getting gold charms?

Ghouls drop them very often

Fire giants, with your melee stats (presuming I'm reading your sig correctly) will be great. They have a high gold charm drop rate (50-55% according to RW, with nearly 100k kills logged). You also get the bonus of prayer xp with big bones (if you want) and some alright drops to pay for costs.

Why on earth would you want gold charms in the first place? It would be much more efficient to kill waterfiends or rock lobsters for crimson charms...

He's level 4?

Maybe he wants to spend some time getting golds until he's at a reasonable level at which he can just collect/use crimsons

Blazing through the lower levels on golds and greens also saves up any crimsons you get for later usage, boosting your stored Summoning XP much, much more.

It's really not hard to survive the first 30+ levels on golds and greens alone.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

Yeah I've been doing Moss Giants, do they have same drop rate as Fire Giants?

Well, you shouldn't really be doing either.

You should be hunting for crimsons, then saving the crimsons and using the gold/greens.

If you're hell bent on getting gold/greens - I guess either is pretty decent (although moss giants are much faster kills then fire giants)

Cannoning dagganoths would be fast golds and decent ranged xp.

Yeah, that's exactly what i mean. Hunt waterfiends for crimsons but obviously pick up all the golds/greens/blues too. By the time you have the golds for the low levels, you'll also blow many higher levels with crimsons. Hunting golds specifically doesn't make much sense to me unless you're desperate to get 24 summoning and stop there for some bizzare reason.
