TDs with a steel titan.

I have experience, I'm just wondering if there's a better set up for me to use. My current gear is:

 

 

Change lumby ring to ring of vigour.

 

I almost never use all the brews or restores, all the extras are more or less to take up space. Most trips I'll use about 3 brews.

 

I've never used void before and I'm wondering if it's worth it for TDs with a titan. Or if I should wear an arma top instead of karil (already own one), though I don't think it's best for the melee offense loss.

 

And lastly should I be using d claws for specials? I like using the eee currently just because it more or less negates the overload damage.

I'm getting more kph with a maul honestly and I already know what I'm doing. Only time I died was due to a dc.

 

Also wondering if I should use something other than an unholy book, since it's only needed for while I'm ranging.

I highly disagree with using a rapier with a steel titan. You're far more likely to screw up your switches while you're busy positioning your titan. Just use a maul and karil's xbow.

 

Definitely use black d'hide and zerker ring. Switch to claws when you're comfortable ss flashing.

I'd go with maul/handcannon, either in black dragonhide with max str bonus (so dragon/steadfast boots, berserker ring) or in elite void with some extra ranged attack (glaiven boots + fire cape). Claw specials for sure.

I prefer going for an 'accurate' set-up, rather than strength.

 

Personally i use fighter hat, onyx (i) and ardy cape, which make both darklight and rapier hit really well.

Margin for error becomes tiny. But once you get the hang of it there's no stopping you.

Darklight is slash, so Ardougne cloak doesn't affect it (fire cape does). Also fighter hat has a pretty big negative range attack. I wouldn't recommend using those, onyx ring is a doubt. Void is a nice accuracy boost too.

 

With void max str: 64+51 slash times 1.1 = 126.5

With void max atk: 64+57 times 1.1 = 133.1

With max accuracy melee: 64+74 = 138

With neitiznot/berserker ring: 64+63 = 127

 

And for maul:

Void: 64+178 crush times 1.1 = 266.2

Max accuracy: 64+201 = 266

Neit/berserker: 64+180 = 255

 

With void being the higher strength as well of course.

Why hurt your hand using a rapier with a steel titan and void? Maul + hc is better, hence why ardy cloak is NOT a good choice. Comp > max > fire cape at TDs.

Well I have to agree and disagree a bit, I use a rapier, but I don't always manage to get my titan to attack perfectly, so I do lose attack turns. Rapier would theoretically be better.

 

As for Ardougne cloak vs fire cape, fire cape has the higher damage output for all chaotic melee weapons and +1 slash to aid darklight and +1 ranged for the handcannon (lol) so it's better.

No, efficiency is my thing, and it's not efficient to lose attack turns and cut trips early due to your hand hurting.

Use rapid

 

Good setup that's almost what I use (instead just regular void and archers)

For inventory i would use (in order of row)

maul, melee helm, claws, darklight

3 overloads, pouch

11 prayer pots, 4 brews, lantern, scrolls, tele, spare cannon. (only had one blow in 6 runs or so)

maybe throw in a prayer renewal? idk

I still prefer ..

Void w/cannon / maul / uni. 40 kills/hr and safer, more relaxed. (that's with rigour and piety, idk what you're using)

Don't bring defender for DL unless you really feel like it and don't mind wasting an inv space.

Karil's xbow has a very low max hit, so you'll be able to damage the TD a little more whenever it prays melee. HC can sometimes cause the TD to switch before titan hits it. CCB sucks at TDs, don't use it.

um the hand cannon does like 16% more damage or something. With void the ccb's extra accuracy would be fairly significant i would think though. obturian is exaggerating a bit, but that's okay.

 

the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence. but usually it is. but not in this case with the karils x bow at tds i don't think. thing is, most people don't even use a steel titan in the first place, which is the criteria for the x bow being good (i think).

 

So if you say no one at tds uses it, well that's expected of the people who aren't using titans (if we assume everyone is doing the best thing). so really your sample size is a lot smaller than you think it is, because you should only be considering the people with titans, when you are trying to make a judgement of what's best based on what people are using. but that's okay too.

Karil's is second to the handcannon and slightly better than the CCB without a titan. With a titan, I'm not sure since you'll be losing out on rigour. I don't think it will affect tiers that much, though it will bring Karil's closer to the CCB.

there is *one* sense in which a using steel titan would bring karil x bow and ccb closer together, which is in the sense that each matter less overall because the steel titan is doing damage too, so their differences, while unchanged, are less significant.

 

Rigour or no rigour, that doesn't change how we compare them.

 

 

What changes their differences and brings them farther apart with the steel titan is that the ccb can slow done your kills by making the td switch prayers when you would have gotten the scroll in had you used the x bow (so +1 for the x bow there).
